the forecast highs very similar temperatures in the 60's low 60's inland mid 60's along the east bay shorelinerd and fremont and more low 60's around the north bay. so it's the cooler spots are in our inland valleys. that's where it was. the coldest in the morning as well. air quality is moderate today. so we have this pattern. we are in high pressure, lack of surface flow and causing some moderate air quality hazy skies. it's giving us those dry afternoons with sunny skies. still driving some strong offshore winds in southern california. so current conditions over by the 2 main fires. we have a calm winds right now. but over at simi valley around the surrounding areas, we're seeing 21 miles per hour. wind gusts coming from the east. we did see strong winds this morning. so red flag warning is still in place for ventura and los angeles counties until 6 this evening. part of that does include apds. that's a particularly dangerous situation. so we're expecting strong winds throughout the day, 30 to 50 miles per hour down in the valleys and even 70 miles per hour and the highest could easily fit,

whether you're at the beach of the pacific ocean or the bay shoreline numbers in the 60's. and as you head south, we're not much change to get down to the santa clara valley. we get numbers as warm as maybe 66 degrees in san jose and santa clara east bay. they continue with numbers mainly in the 60's. and again, 63 in fremont and up toward the north bay is numbers also in the 60's. so we're in for a spell of another dry day numbers warmer than normal. and still, we're in good shape and numbers for the next 7 days. a lot like today. funny next weekend we go closer to normal temperatures more like in the upper 50's and maybe a few extra clouds. but we're talking subtleties here and still no rain sight. no rain in sight and we could use some because our invitation starting dry out a little bit. that's not a good thing. that's one of the huge factors in southern california. so i'm lookhng for those raindrops. thanks. capping the well. police in san jose are investigating the city's first homicide of the year. it happened just after 10 o'clock saturday night on loma verde drive.

the east bay shoreline there in hayward at 59, and a little bit of a similar feel down here in the southbay, with a high of about 63, in gilroy. now, what's going to happen as we go out and talk about the week here on the west coast? we mentioned that we're going to start to build high pressure gradually, while a system of low pressure and some snow showers out east, what that's going to do is actually going to battle high pressure and low pressure, create that gradient and bring in some gusty winds. the diablo winds will be kicking up here as we go on late monday on into tuesday. now with the fire risk low with the rain that we've gotten, i'm not too concerned there. we'll see those winds anywhere from 20 to maybe even 30 miles an hour. wait for any advisories to come into place. the situation gets better on wednesday, but down in southern california, that's where the situation could be worse. they have received very little rainfall this winter season, and those gusts look even crazier down there. 40 to 50 miles an hour right there through five, the santa monica mountains and even down

tonight we do expect to see a return of fog around the bay shoreline, so be aware of that today. lighter winds still keeping it sunny, still keeping it dry, keeping it mild with temperatures in the 60s. let's talk about what's happening across california, why it is so windy. we have this strong pressure gradient that's really focusing its attention over southern california. that is why the winds are so strong. and that is why we have seen these fires just develop really rapidly. now you see the size of the acreage on your screen. i would expect these numbers to really jump with the next update because these winds are so strong. look at some look at this. i mean this is incredible. this is a wind gust right now. this is near the eaton fire near pasadena. the winds are 100mph. this is why the firefighters cannot get in the air right now to attack these fires. these winds are so strong right now. winds across southern california. this is their wind forecast stay elevated this morning. and then they will begin to drop by about midday. and hopefully that's when we get those air assaul
