it happened around seven this morning near bayshore circle and lake drive. police say about a dozen kids were on the bus at the time of the crash -- but they were not hurt. we're told the bus driver and the driver of the other car were the hospital with minor injuries. officials say low sun may have a been a factor in the crash. investigators in the village of mount pleasant are searching for the driver who crashed into a police squad. it happened last night. the officer was responding to a call -- when he had to jump into his squad to avoid being hit by the passing vehicle. the officer escaped without injury -- but the squad was damaged. investigators say -- the driver go, was somebody, intentionally, trying to run down an officer? we dont know that. police say the suspect vehicle is a dark sedan, which should have damage to the front passenger side. if you have any information on the case -- you're asked to call police. with the warmup -- comes more chances for rain. tom wachs will be in next with the forecast. plus... it's been months in the making... and

here's the brookdale bayshore there's downtown tampa in the background. bayshore boulevard, i know, everybody has been talking it's the first day of fall and it's exciting and it's still going to be 90 degrees. there's absolutely going to be no difference in the way it feels outside for us because the calendar changes doesn't mean our weather will. we know it typically takes a few weeks for us to get the first decent cold front through here so pretty, though, isn't it? we have some spots close to 80 degrees along the coastline. i still think we get back to the lower 90s for today. the difference yesterday and going into today has been some of that drier air that's filtered in aloft. that's lowered the rain chances so even though crystal river is starting at 70 and it's 73 in bartow and wauchula, most of these areas are easily going to get back up to about 90, 91 degrees today. you combine that with dew points in the mid 70s and then you've got the mid to upper the heat index. we had some showers on the radar this morning, but they were moving away from th
