are bayside and the coastal temperatures are seeing a lot of mid-80s.e pressure building and thursday and friday, then around this time next weekend, some cooling changes increase clouds which take us into the all-important sunday night football forecast at levi stadium right here in the bay area. cowboys taking on the undefeated 49ers. 80s during the game, upper 70s as we move towards the 5:20 kickoff time. monday night football may have a chance of showers if that were the case in the bay area. areas around the north bay likely to see the best chance of rain chances trying to return beyond the seven day forecast. to give you a preview another week from now, right now, that rain line is over the north bay. northcoast in mendocino and sonoma county and another 7 to 10 days, we will see the best chance for rain showers but before we get there, summerlike temperatures coming back. san francisco again, that looks like an inland seven-day forecast. you are looking at 70s and 80s for the start of fleet week. should be good news for the airshows into the star

minutes because this is about to be the hottest forecast so far this year for a lot of our coastal and bayside areas. golden gate bridge looks crystal clear. not a cloud in the sky out there and temperatures are already climbing. really quick. look at these coastal spots like pacifica and half moon bay all the way up in the 80's. that's the same number you're seeing in brentwood right now. so our inland areas, you've got the ac generally, you're a lot more used to this. those coastal spots already heating up in about 2 more. so this afternoon. now winds from the inland are pressing out towards the coast and it's pushing into that ocean. cool. they're away from us. that's why it is so so hot. we are seeing heat advisories going into effect here in about 30 minutes from san francisco down the peninsula into the south bay and then all the way up the east bay shoreline to richmond. these will remain in effect through 11:00pm tomorrow night because of this excessive heat. so as i've suggested, just try to get to a cool spot later on today, whether it's the grocery store, maybe the movie theater, ev

you can see everyone except for those of you who are directly bayside and a little bit of a south bay. but other than that, the rest of us looking out for winds 20 to 30 miles per hour with some gusts up to about 50 miles per hour. very low humidity levels. and that combines to cause problems. so why does this happen? well, high pressure, low pressure do a little bit of a dance together when the kind of squeeze together you get a bit of a wind gradient and it starts to drive the wind offshore. so we have clockwise circulation. you can see they're going around high pressure. we've got counter clockwise circulation going around. low pressure. the kind of come together and they drive that wind right off shore. in of the difference is it's not that cool. moist air that comes in from the ocean. it's from the other side are a very dry air that is dry it out on the way down the mountains in the sierra and then comes our way and unfortunately can cause some problems. so let's talk about why a wildfire can start. all right. so wildfires happen because you have a couple of things coming togethe

bayside looking out for some of those low to mid 90's. so there are some records out there that we could meet or exceed today. san francisco is one of them noticed some of these records just from 2022, both in san francisco and oakland there in 1991 degrees. santa rosa. we could flirt with a record today to from 1921. to 95 degrees. napa. 94 redwood city, 94, half moon bay. 82 that record from 1998. all of those are potentially going to be met or exceeded today. the mark of high pressure is clear blue skies. and boy, we've got that in spades today as we take a live look outside temperatures right now already at 77 degrees in san francisco. you can see 83 in santa rosa. 85 in livermore. you get the idea everybody. we're going to have a warm one today. now, also, if you're heading to the coast, not only is it going to be warm, but we also have a high advisory out there. waves could get up to between 17 and 22 feet. and we'll tell you, i took a look and already starting to see a big difference from yesterday right off the coast here at point

we're pretty mild in low 60's along the coast. 70's bayside 78 in livermore.o definitely warmer as you make your way inland. but you can see that cold front already cooling things down at this hour. chua 8 degrees cooler in santa rosa and for around north bay and the coast. and then even 8 degrees cooler in oakland. if you're heading out to the big cities tonight, we 50's for you and the chance of drizzle. some cloudy skies. san jose looks mostly cloudy, but you don't see the drizzle reaching out over there. here's your extended forecast. so, yeah, as you can see this weekend, we're pretty cloudy for next few days, but we're pretty mild as well. so we're going to bounce between the 70's and 80's inland 70's by the bay, a 60's by the coast. and then you'll notice as we make our way midweek, we start to warm up as that ridge of high pressure builds in close to 90 degrees and may be 90 next thursday. so definitely a roller coaster with the temperatures outside of back to stephanie. all right, dale, thank you so much for that. that's it for us here at 4 news at 3.
