in bayview, california. is an exciting time. is a look around and see a lot of our business owners up and down the third streetcar door, and one of our main focuses is to make sure we have a vibrant corridor where businesses get to thrive, not only for folks in the community, because we want to make sure we have a place to go like supervisor maxwell explained, so we can talk, we can spend time with our families right here in our own community, but we also want to make bayview a destination place. we want folks to come from all over san francisco, from all over the bay area to enjoy the culture, to enjoy the businesses , to enjoy the food that we have right here in our own community. so as we look at our own businesses activating space outside and an atmosphere like this, that is an exciting thing for us. that is something that we should all be celebrating and be excited about. i want to thank everyone for coming over today and spending time to get to know our business owners who i will introduce in a minute,

the bayview has lost its toe. some type of plan, some type of honesty -- when i first came to bayview, they were talking about rebuilding the bayview, doing this i saw the community, they wanted to believe in something. yet, without hope, you have nothing. this supervisor has come with a vision. it's not just this one district. true, we have had violence, in the asian community. it has expanded over the last few years. i don't want to get into politics. but, san francisco is a city that has heart. i grew up here, it has always had heart. at 11-point, i was homeless. at one point, i was a drug addict. i have been clean now for 21 years, because of what the city has done and gave me a shot. i just want to say, if we give someone a shot, we can change something. they have to have hope. thank you. >> hi, i am laura, one of the hair workers. a resolution was introduced last week. i just want to thank you all ahead of time, in advance for the voting. thank you. >> thank you. next speaker, please. >> my name is lisa rasm

bayview playground, k.c. jones is in the construction design phase.blood coleman, you know quite a bit about india basin which is in the concept design phase, and a variety of other improvements beyond the court resurfacing projects are underway, so a lot of good things happening in the southeast sector of the city. all right. let's turn to soccer. fresh off the excitement of the u.s. national women's soccer team's stunning world cup victory in france earlier this month, we are proud to partner with street soccer u.s.a. and other agencies and nonprofits to bring two fields to the city for a summer of play. there are open field times for youth and adults. there's organized team play. anyone can use the courts, so for more information, visit our website at sfrecpark.org. we move on to golden gate park and stern road. we have the stern road festival. outside lands comes to golden gate park august 9 through 11, but now, through july 22, the san francisco botanical garden hosts its annual flower-piano event, placing 12 pianos in some of the garden's most b

>> well, the bayview -- right now, the bayview has the highest number of structures in tents. i think a lot of folks have gone from different parts of the city and made their way out to the bayview. i know that many areas are industrial in nature, so just talking with individuals, if i'm parked out here on a particular street, no one is going to call, whereas if they park on other streets, they'll be called on. every week, we're trying to wrap our heads around what our strategy's going to be to address that issue. i know the city's been proactive about having a vehicle triage site, and that'll happen in district 11, and we're thinking about the individuals that are in the bayview, so it's a work in progress but there'll be quite a few. >> will there be more resources given to bayview, given these extremely high numbers chaired to some other areas of the city? >> well, i do think some of our plans occur in the bayview. for example, in addition to just cleaning up the site, we're having these two week encampment meetings out there, the encampments are so large, we need to place

for too long, the bayview, viz valley, sunnyvale, the tenderloin, bayview, western addition has been plagued with senseless violence. we've had plan after plan and work today significantly reduce violence in our neighborhoods, and crime is down. but i am committed to addressing this and we are committed today to work towards a vision zero on homicides and violence plans with you. our vision zero plan is calling for a violence prevention coordinator for each district affected by violence that would assist in providing more central and organized management of violence resources. our plan calls for community and foot beat officers to be concentrated in areas with the need for vie visibility. our plan calls for ambassadors and the placement of cameras in the community to deter violence. the plan calls for focused mental health and trauma supports for our most vulnerable young people. we are bringing together a team of formerly incarcerated a inc individuals, people that prove you can change. they will mentor some of our youth at highest risk, and we will work strategically to address vio
