area. really what a difference the 48 hours makes. another spot hit hard, san francisco. four homes actually red-tagged because of the flooding. this is in the bayview neighborhood. low-lying areas in the mission district also hit hard. people in the area of 17th and fulsome say they're used to seeing the city put up flood barriers, but over the weekend, those flood barriers never showed up. the city of san francisco says they do plan to put up those barriers tomorrow and that crews will be checking on storm drains and the trees over the next 48 hours. let's bring in our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. a lot of layers to talk about what happened the last couple days and what's coming up this weekend. let's start with right now. it's wet outside right now, and there is rain. >> yeah, and that storm system tonight, it's really nothing big. it's going to kind of move in and move out. we saw the video and the damage, and i wanted to show you these totals. past seven days, kentfield, 10.05 inches. typically it's all of the north bay getting in on those high totals. that was kind of an outlier. a lot of the north bay was around five to six inches. danvi

major flooding around the bay area, interstate 5 80 in san leandro and highway 101 in san francisco were shut down due to flooding and several homes in san francisco's bayviewooded as the city received about four inches of rainfall, the city red tagged and number of homes leaving residents without a place to stay on new year's eve. neighbors say runoff from the hillside behind their homes, flooded their yards and patios. the garage door was closed. then we open it and then water just pours out because there was a bit of his landslide. all of the dirt came down and blocked all the gutters, so the water really had nowhere to go. well, this video shared by the san francisco fire department shows several feet of standing water against a sliding glass door. firefighters had to divert the flooded water so they use sandbags to create a river. from the backyard, down the staircases and out the front door and all the sadness that this brings we're lucky to have a certain neighbors who all are here for each other. everybody wanted to each other's homes. we all know each other. nobody was injured, but some neighbors believe this could have been prevented if the hillsi
