it centered around making sure that communities that have been disenfranchised like the bayview hunter's point and i know we have some women here today that they are at the forefront of the change we need to make in san francisco. and susie believes very strongly in not only focusing on the environment, but making sure that equity is at the center of the decisions that we make as a city and as a country. she believes again firmly and supporting and uplifting women and she is consistently doing everything she can to support those causes. now i've got to tell you, i became a big fan of susie once she found out i was the founder of the sfree. i don't know if you remember the spree outlet we'd go to this free outlet that was off of 3rd street near mission rock. you guys all know it. yes. but she took her resources and used them to support causes that mean a lot to uplifting and supporting women and we are so grateful for her work and wish she could have been with us here today but she's here with us in spirit. to congratulations to susie tomkins buhl for her work in san francisco. and so wit

and first of all, for me in elementary in 1978, i was born in 1967 in bayview hunters point.don't get to see the survival skills in a community like that is not your average conversation. it's a deeper one. i'm a product of all of the school, their standards and all of the different things. i'm a product of juvenile hall which they used to call you got caught ygc. i'm part of the 850 bryant situation. the drug program. and everything that we have, i am a san francisco born child. from 1967, in a city black dance culture. my family is from louisiana. and i learned a lot from my family before we get to talking about schools because that's where the boundaries came. i was the smartest and the best at home with my family, but when i got to school i was segregated and i was put to the side because i couldn't focus like everybody else. i got sent home and my teachers that didn't want to tolerate me. and i got whoopings and everything else. so i moved to the philmore district in 1978. and i ran into this dance called strutting. what you saw me do just now, that's called strutting, y

a former convert which i am a maybe of this program i grew up bayview-hunters point.elter 17 pregnant women and 24 hour support with permanent housing. since opening in february of 2020, the house have serviced 56 with 42 to exit to permanent housing. the program we focus okays management, okays management. substance abuse. parenting support. mama baby groups and family planning. we launched a new program community health workers for clients to be able to learn a school. we also do housing search. referrals. coordinating in san francisco infrastructure for homeless services within the city of san francisco. support housing hsa. clients need to be referred and passed by the coordinating entry system. women seeking support sometimes come seeking shelter. i have had at least 8 welcome to my door looking for shelter. they come to my door. i can feed them. i can't allow them in my program when i have beds available. i have to send them away to coordinated entries. out of those eight to nick i have seen three. i don't know what happened to the rest. if you know about domest
