bayview. >> soccer is the world's game, and everybody plays, but in the united states, this is a sport thattruggles with access for certain communities. >> i coached basketball in a coached football for years, it is the same thing. it is about motivating kids and keeping them together, and giving them new opportunities. >> when the kids came out, they had no idea really what the game was. only one or two of them had played soccer before. we gave the kids very simple lessons every day and made sure that they had fun while they were doing it, and you really could see them evolve into a team over the course of the season. >> i think this is a great opportunity to be part of the community and be part of programs like this. >> i get to run around with my other teammates and pass the ball. >> this is new to me. i've always played basketball or football. i am adjusting to be a soccer mom. >> the bayview is like my favorite team. even though we lose it is still fine. >> right on. >> i have lots of favorite memories, but i think one of them is just watching the kids enjoy themselves. >> my favorite

>> bayview united. >> that's right. >> hi.y name is carmen chiu, san francisco's aelectricitied assessor. today, i want to share with you a property tax savings programs for families called proposition 58. prop 58 was passed in 1986 and it was helped parents pass on their lower property tax base to their children. so how does this work? under california's prop 13 law, the value we use to calculate your property tax is limited to 2% growth peryear. but when ownership changes, prop 13 requires that we reassess properties to market value. if parents want to pass on their home or other property to their children, it would be considered a change in ownership. assuming the market value of your property has gone up, your children, the new owners, would pay taxes starting at that new higher level. that's where prop 58 comes in. prop 58 recognizes the transfer between parents and children so that instead of taxing your children at that new higher level, they get to keep your lower prop 13 value. remember, prop 58 only applies to transf

bayview hunters point community. i too was concerned about that. in fact, the public housing development i lived in had 300 units and after it was rebuilt through hope 6 which was a whole other program before hope s.f., there were only 200 units built. so clearly, everyone was not coming back. that's why when i first started as a commissioner on the san francisco redevelopment agency and we set out on our path to try and rebuild double rock and other places, it was important to me that we did it differently than we did in the past, so that residents played a critical role in not only deciding what fixtures and windows and how they wanted their community to be, but they remained a part of their communities. so that's exactly what we did. it did require a lot of patience and moving around and a number of things. yes, again, i know that people were a little uncertain as to whether or not we would get this project done because promises have been made over the years and promises not kept. but today a promise is kept. 439 units of affordable housing for people, for families, for this amazing community. through the r.a

bayview. and i'm probably going to be displaced again. seeing developments like this where they are abusing the home sf density to create more density for units and pocket more moneys in their development is really harmful to the city of san francisco. we need to think about the fact the design doesn't even allow for lighting and ventilation. and it reduces the amount of quality of life for people. and how do we address that as planners and architects? i have looked through the drawings and there are no units that are considered for ada there are no units -- they have bedrooms within their actual, one bedrooms that have sliding doors. and that's not to code. and they can't do their due diligence in design, i have no faith they will do it as they go through design development and construction documentation. so i am opposing this project for the people of san francisco. >> thank you. next speaker please. let me call some more names if someone is in the overflow room, please make your name here.
