the bch lorrette. becca. and jodi foster. >> finally tonight a few thoughts about what matters.ys and political coverage is optics. with regard to the marilyn story of the week the immigration crisis on the u.s./mexico border are the optic ared about and terrible in fact. the images of children locked in cages crying for parents is heart breaking and deeply troubling. i have no doubt that the u.s. handlers are doing what they can to comfort them and treat them kindly. but there is no way to sooting the confusion and terror the children are feeling. president trump signed an order to end the separation policy and to reunite families. but that will take some time. it's a complicated issue. and many believe genuine immigration reform is desperately needed. having a child with you while committing a crime and entering the country illegal is a crime does not excuse you from the crime. as the immigration debate rages on what really matters first is the children and we can't do this. the optics are bad. the effect on innocent children unconscionable. let me know what you think. follow
