this comes from an interim report that the investigating authority, the french authority called the bea, issued earlier today and the most significant information in the report seems to be that there was a rehearse annual oral preceding the doomed flight later on. this happened when the captain left the cockpit, and he said immediately the descent began, and the report reads, at 7:20:50, the selected altitude decreased to 100 feet for three seconds and then increased to the maximum value of 49,000 feet and stabilized again at 35,000 feet. this was -- it happened several times, and there were several times apparently that lubitz selected the alltitude of 100 feet and at this point in time the aircraft was supposed to descend anyway and that's why the air traffic controllers didn't notice anything. and then several altitude selections were recorded while the pilot was alone in the cockpit. we have been talking so much about how much planning lubitz put into this and how premedicated this is and this gives a strong indication there was a lot more planning involved than initially believed.

outside of the lawrence expressway in the san jose area in santa clara county and up we go to the north bea. this is what we need by widely scattered showers from the south bay to the north. rain showers pretty moderate around highway 101 and strong echoes east of the bay. concord, a report of lightning in that area as well. this is outside of dublin, looking in the easterly direction towards livermore, south wind at 15 miles per hour. and air temperatures balmy, in the 60s across the board. that is because of the south and southwest wind. the area of low pressure is roughly 50 miles just west of monterey. so we have the band of precipitation lifting up to the northeasterly direction circulating around that core and that is why we're seeing the rain cells lift up into the bay area. this is going to kick out and we'll keep a side chance of shower in the evening forecast and friday as well. that area of low pressure will enhance our marine layer for the weekend. what can you expect this afternoon? looks like most of the precipitation, again east of the bay in the eastern portion of the bay ar
