. >> griff: let's bring in sarah bedford from "the washington examiner." want to get into this idea it might not be president biden at the top of the ticket when it comes to next november election. you have a surprise it is not a total surprise that he may decide not to run. what do you think of that? >> i think there are two separate considerations for joe biden. they sort of demand different things of him. from a governance perspective if he were to dropped out of the 2024 race right now he would be a lame duck president and have no credibility on capitol hill, no real credibility to sign executive orders. so basically the rest of his presidency would be spent on that decision. but politically it would demand of him that he would step out of the race now, right, if he wanted a successor other than kamala harris, historically unpopular vice president. the longer he stays in the race the less likely that a successor from outside of his administration would be able to step up and take his place. the consideration demands joe biden step out of the spotlight
