they are being released into beitunia in the west bank. that's north of jerusalem, west of ramallah. they have been told the instructions are there to be no parades or celebrations in that area. however, we were just speaking to daniele hamamdjian, who is in the west bank, and it does seem like to the extent that there are people gathering and there are people honking their horns, something that looks like a celebration may or may not be underway. we will also keep bringing you pictures. pictures of hostages square in tel aviv, where families of hostages and supporters are there. that has been a nexus not just for support of the families of hostages, but for some of the opposition to the right wing government in israel. we now have confirmation. we now have confirmation from the idf, from the israeli defense forces that the three hostages, the three women who have been released by hamas into red cross captivity, are now in israel. they have crossed over from gaza. they are now in israel with the red cross. they will be put onto a helicopte

we're in a place called beitunia in the west bank.nd behind me is the drop off location where the palestinian prisoners will be dropped off by bus. ofer prison, which is where many of people here are held, is behind that white van. you can't you can't really see it. i'm going to turn around the camera. these are the family members of the prisoners who have been waiting here all afternoon. they'll be waiting all evening to be reunited with the prisoners who are going to be released. 90 in all, 69 women and 21 children, most of them from the west bank. and they are the first batch of prisoners released in exchange for the first three hostages. now, it's unclear how many of them were detained in what's called administrative detention, which is a law that dates back to 1945. before israel was even created. it was it was used under the british mandate of palestine. and prisoners are held without being charged, tried often, don't even know what the evidence is against them, and they're held indefinitely. and save the children will tell you

they have moved onwards into beitunia behind us just in the last few minutes. we know that the palestinian authorities have been clear that they don't want to see any celebrations. last weekend we saw huge crowds gathering in beitunia to mark this and celebrate the occasion. many reuniting with their families and or family members as they were coming down from those busses. the security situation here has been tighter today. we've seen a larger presence by palestinian security forces escorting the busses on the ground. and of course it has been somewhat subdued as well. they've moved them further upwards into the city as opposed to in sort of a central meeting area. and again, this has happened a lot earlier in the day last weekend, we saw a huge amount of delay. in fact, prisoners weren't released until the early hours of the next morning. so this process has moved a lot smoother and smoother this weekend. and of course, this is just the second weekend that we have seen this take place. that exchange set to continue over the next four weeks. again. >> all righ

ramallah, we saw pretty chaotic scenes to be honest as those prisoners were busted out of oferjail in beitunia centre which had been put on in ramallah and there were, as i say, chaotic scenes as the buses on which they arrived was swarmed with their supporters, theirfamily members. we swarmed with their supporters, their family members. we then saw the prisoners file off the bus, all in their grey prison tracksuits, many with shaven heads, some with quite long beards and all, it has to be said, looking pretty gaunt, like they lost quite a lot of weight while in prison. overall weight while in prison. overall we had 200 prisoners freed today. just over 100 came back here to the west bank and then they'll be allowed to travel home to the west bank or east jerusalem. 70 more — those who had been convicted of more serious offences — they have now been transferred to egypt. they're going to be deported to neighbouring countries such as qatar and turkey. and a number of prisoners were sent to gaza. now, we had a range of offences really, but 121 of those people released today were serving life sent

i want to go now to nada bashir, who is live in the west bank town of beitunia right now near the ofer prison. not as i said. you know, we're focusing so much on the return of the hostages and what it means to the families as well. but it can't be forgotten that there are 200 palestinians who are being released as well. take us through exactly who is being released and what the process will be. >> well, listen, we are expecting 200 palestinian prisoners to be released today under the terms of the agreement. last week, what we saw was 30 palestinian prisoners for each hostage release. this time, because we are seeing female israeli soldiers being released. it is 50 palestinian prisoners per hostage. that is why we are seeing that total of 200, among them, 121, were charged with at least one life sentence. at least 79 serving high sentences. and we are expecting 70 of them to be deported. but again, in terms of the process of their release, we're still unclear on the timings. of course, last week we saw a significant delay in palestinian prisoners being released following the release of
