police just identified a north carolina man who was shot and killed in beltsville back in 1984. sam sweeney has more on who the victim was and the next steps in the investigation. in 1984, a father and his eight-year-old son were walking along baltimore avenue here in beltsville. they stumbled upon a corpse and called 911. prince george's county police determined the man had been dead for three months. he died of multiple gunshot wounds. for the last 33 years, they couldn't figure out his name -- until now. decades old cold case, there is a name, face, and even a picture. 27-year-old former marine shot to death in 1984 is bennett louis. >> his pockets had been rifled through. there was no identification on him. there were skeletal remains to begin with. however, the evidence tax were able to find -- evidence techs were able to find fingerprints. sam: the fbi recently ran his prince and they had a met -- his prints, and they had a match. from that arrest, that fingerprint that was taken back then, they were able to make an id. sam: prince george's county police tracked down benne
