we are joined by attorney ben crump. thank you for joining us.t's day eight, as you know, of witness testimony in this trial. how well in your view is the prosecution doing in building the case against derek chauvin? >> i think attorney general keith ellison and his team of prosecutors are making a very compelling case why derek chauvin should be held criminally liable for killing george floyd. i think there are always going to be a lot of different aspects of a trial. but i think when you look at strategically how they're laying out this trial, the jury will see that the reason george floyd is dead is because derek chauvin violated all policies and procedures and used unnecessary excessive force by keeping his knee on george floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds. >> do you think, you know, the prosecution has made some missteps, we've heard witnesses agree with the defense line of questioning, for example. >> well, i think as our legal team discussed as civil lawyers, every law firm, every lawyer does things differently. i believe the prosec

that's the indication that i got from ben crump. and they did not. they were supposed to see the video at 11:30 a.m. and then it was delayed another two hours after five days in total. the video needed to be blurred. so, what do you make of that? i know the family felt disrespected and after all that time you sit and have to wait for two more hours for the video blurring? >> we had rolling discussions with the county attorney mr. cox for the last several days about being allowed the see this video. yesterday i had a brief conversation with him and the conversation centered around who in the family would be allowed to see the video. they never raised any issues with regards to attorneys, being able to see the video, he never told us we would need to be barred in the state of north carolina in order to see the video. all of these excuses they came up were excuses. they came up this morning to say well, there is going to be a delayed because we need to redact the video. we don't want to show the faces of the officers that were on the scene engaging in t

yamiche: ben crump, you representing the family of daunte wright, his mother.t can you tell us about that case, whether or not the officer will be charged, and what do you make of the fact that this is happening during this trial? >> i believe that the police officer will be charged with some level of manslaughter. the fact that she was a 26-year police veteran, training people on that day. there are a lot of suspicions. they are looking into whether or not they even should have been stopping people for expired license tags. the dmv had beeshut down and backlogged since the covid-19 pandemic. there was a directive sent out, don't stopping people for having expired tags. it may be they have not been able to get an appointment. i say all that to say, it seems like even for minor traffic events, black people end up dead in some of the most unusual ways. think about george floyd, the $20 counterfeit dill. that is a misdemeanor. he could have been given a ticket. they had the discretion to do that. when it is black people in america, they always engage in doing the
