marathon brought thousands toss our city over the weekend this was the scene yesterday on the ben franklin parkway. this heroic moment captured hearts of many viewers, see it right here, two men helped a run inner need to cross the finish line. here's what they said, we had them on the show, the two guys to talk about this moment. >> it is interesting you guys are surprised because joseph, they are other run hers ran pennsylvania her but you decided not to. >> just what we do. you see someone who need help, it is just wanting to help. we all push for that goal. >> they were so sweet, joseph and brian. the running community is a tight community and we, of course, we do that. what i also loved and you cannot tell in the video but they carried her all the way to right before the finish line. they didn't carry her over because they wanted her to take that final step. >> isn't that amazing. >> yes, she was trying to get in under two hours for half marathon she wanted to do that time. they were saying at that point it is just all mental not physical. you want to get it out. they were helping her to achi

as we take a live look at the ben franklin parkway. but it's not all good news. meteorologist scott william is tracking a warm up with your first forecast at 11. rain, too, scott. >> little bit of everything dawn for the up coming weekend. one weekend but two seasons. temperatures right now not that bad. we managed 58 degrees for the high in philadelphia. current numbers still pretty comfortable. 51 degrees. dew points in the 30s and winds right now out of the north and west. as we zoom in across the area, mid 40s in allentown. 50 degrees atlantic. upper 50s in dove those winds out of the south and west for most of us. storms well off to the west. but tomorrow we'll have to watch a back door front out ahead of it yeah temperatures top out around 70 degrees. but the cloud cover will event eventually give way to some showers, damp, drizzily conditions. take a look at the forecast by sunday with that back door front to our south. winds out of the east and high temperatures on sunday only in the 40s. so for tomorrow, get outdoors and enjoy it. at least the first half

this is the ben franklin parkway, what a beautiful shot. you can see all the snow around. and a lot of it's going to stay around for the rest of the week because it's just going toy melting a little bit and refreezing. cloudy skies out there now. you can see the temperatures below freezing already. you got a fair amount of clouds and we've also got a fair amount of wind in the area at the moment. and take a look at delaware and the temperatures in the 20s even in northern delaware where we've got snow, you've got ice, freezing rain and what a mess you are going to have. 29 in claymont and harmony hills and marshallton, newark, reedy point. farther south where there was less snow or hardly any snow, so it doesn't help that the temperature got above freezing there because they don't have the snow to melt. now, it's going to feel cold everywhere as you go through the night, feeling like single digits by midnight. close to zero in pottstown. and by morning again close the zero. a bunch of 2s here and single digits everywhere across the area. so everything is going to be frozen

and as long as we're talking about roads, the ben franklin parkway turns 100 this year. the city is planning a major celebration. representatives from several organizations unveil plans today at the logan hotel in center city. it will be called parkway 100. there'll be 14 months of exhibitions and events, conversations, and promotions and that man, channel 6 president and general manager bernie prazenica revealed how channel 6 plans to play a role in the festivities. >> i think the biggest thing is we're going to participate in a special. and so we'll do a half-hour special that will be broadcast in september. and that will be all about all the partners and all the great things that are going on on the parkway. and we'll certainly make sure that our thanksgiving day parade celebrates the parkway as well. >> the celebration begins on september 8th. >>> and coming up on "action news" tonight, the phillies honor former manager dallas green before today's game in clearwater. >>> when rowan university finds out that some it students have to make a choice between tuition and b

as we take live look at ben franklin parkway as we dig out from the winter storm.he story now of course ice and wind. >> let's get back over to meteorologist kathy orr. kathy you were saying things like in delaware and stuff you were talking about, what, 6-inches or so and i think it hit that, right? >> yeah. in delaware county six to 10-inch of inches and we talked about that. if you vet the sleet and rain you'll be on the low end and that's what happened. that's what happened in philadelphia as well with 6-inches of snow reported at philadelphia international airport. it temperature right now at freezing but it feels like 20 with that northwest wind at about 21 miles an hour. that's a sustained wind. we have a few back snow showers rotating through on the back side of the storm. you can see them pretty much falling apart over parts of chester county and also western new castle county for tonight some partial clearing and just gusty winds. in new jersey, we picked up anywhere from close to 6-inches of snow in florence, mt. holly, 5-inches pennington, 5-inches to a
