joining me from the convention site is ben labolt, national press secretary for the obama campaign. >> thanks for having me. >> let's get to the breaking news about the fact that the speech will be switched so that everyone will stay dry basically from the big 65,000 person arena of the carolina panthers stadium now inside to the time warner cable arena. what was behind this decision and how quickly did you need to make it based on weather? >> ultimately public safety comes first. we had 65,000 people slalted to attend and we can't put them in that position. we looked at all of the weather forecasts out this morning and several predicted severe weather in the middle of the program tomorrow night. this was the moment when we needed to make a decision because we had to begin the site at the stadium. we had to make a final call to keep it at the arena. for those folks with credentials, the president will hold a conference call in advance of remarks tomorrow night. we'll see if there's an opportunity for them to catch up for events along the trail in the weeks ahead. ultimately public saf
