ben franklin parkway turns 100 this year. and the city is planning a major celebration. representatives from several organizations unveil plans today at the loganel in center city. it will be called parkway 100. there'll be 14 months of exhibitions and events, conversations, and promotions and that man, channel 6 president and general manager bernie prazenica revealed how channel 6 plans to play a role in the festivities. >> i think the biggest thing is we're going to participate in a special. and so we'll do a half-hour special that will be broadcast in september. and that will be all about all the partners and all the great things that are going on on the parkway. and we'll certainly make sure that our thanksgiving day parade celebrates the parkway as well. >> the celebration begins on september 8th. >>> and coming up on "action news" tonight, the phillies honor former manager dallas green before today's game in clearwater. >>> when rowan university finds out that some it students have to make a choice between tuition and books or a meal, they open up a food pantry on campus. i'm nora muchanic in glassboro. i'll have that story coming up. >>>
