the highest rain totals seen over the ben lomond area, just over 2.5 inches and santa rosa an inch and san francisco airport a little over half an inch. hayward and half moon bay less than half an inch and near the san jose airport, not nearly a quarter, still very much welcome. over the next couple of hours we expect on and off again showers and catch a break kind of around noon and then it will dry out a little bit and pick right back up at about 6:00, so there's an interesting break in that rain pattern there, but the estimated rain totals right now are expected to be so far as expected just a little over an inch again through the far northern areas and that includes the burn scars there. the reason thanksgiving night, friday night, this is all encompassing. now san jose down through this area expect to see also just a little over a quarter, so we'll get a couple more chances of seeing some accumulations down through the south bay, but because of that rain shadow, there's still less of a chance, so if you're looking at this map, pinpoint where your home is located, look at the color

i saw three inches of rain in ben lomond. it was very, very wet in san francisco. over an inch. that's a lot of rain for san francisco. this is systems one and two. in between here, this is kind of the break for tomorrow. tomorrow is going to be a cool day. and then it's not going to be a washout. i know that's important because you have friends and family and you want to be able to get out and do stuff. lightning off eureka with heavy rain. and then down here you see our main frontal system right here. that has pushed through. now we are in the wide le scattered shower ak -- widely scattered shower activity behind the front. as we go through the evening hours outside of concord, outside of san jose, just be ready for light scattered showers but the heavstuff should be done. we will get a break tomorrow. maybe a sprinkle tomorrow afternoon late. and then we get into it on friday. when i come back we'll talk about the complete forecast and the five-day forecast. >>> people heading up into the sierra are starting to see snow at the higher elevations tonight. just talked to bill a
