[applause] the poet, ben okri, recently wrote in his poem "grenfell tower", "those who were living noware dead. those who were breathing are fled.he living earth if you want to see how the poor die, come see grenfell tower." thank you, ben, for that wonderful poem. [applause] we have a duty as a country, to learn the lessons from this calamity and ensure that a change world flowers. i hope that the public inquiry will assist. but a decent home is a right for whatever their income or whatever their background. [applause] and houses should be homes for the many, not speculative investments for the few.
