five weeks ago, we brought you the story of ben simon, a senior at the university of maryland college volunteer power of students, to donate unsold food from his campus dining hall to food banks and shelters in his community. what started in one university soon expanded to 13 campuses around the country. thanks to ben and his friends. and so much has happened to ben and his organization, the food recovery network since we named them our foot soldiers that week that we decided to bring ben in to tell us all about it. hi, ben. the so nice to have you here. >> thank you so much for having me. >> what's been going on the past five weeks? ? we've had a really exciting past five weeks. thank you so much for the exposure. it was our first national tv coverage and we got an amazing outpouring of support from your views. within a week we had 30 to 40 new chapter applications. that's students who applied to start a food recovery network chapter at their college campus. so we got a lot of donations. our facebook page blew up. it was crazy. hitting refresh and having like 200 more likes after lik

ben ferguson of the icon radio network and host of the ben ferguson show and simon rosenburg, foundernk and form clinton campaign advisor. wow, has this gotten a lot of pickup, pow, a lot of focus on something that, i mean, i think we all agree right now has no chance of passing. and yet, it brings up a lot of dynamics that we've seen in the gun control debate and are people being respectful of one another's views, is one side trying to alter our fundamental constitutional rights. your reaction to it, ben. >> well, i think the biggest issue that ted was bringing up, the senator was saying, look, who are you to decide what gun i can and cannot have based on you basically saying i know there's a bill of rights, but as one senator think all of these guns on my specialist are inappropriate for you. he she said, do you think you should be able to have a bazooka, dianne feinstein should no that it's alrey illegal to own a bazooka in america. and who are you to decide which guns i'm to own because the constitution says you as a person should not go out and give your special dianne feinstein

ben wedeman as well, thanks so much. i'm joined by ted simon, expert in international law who represents amanda knox. thanks for being with us. how confident are you this italian court will not overturn your client's acquittal? >> we're not in the business of prejudging any court's ruling but i think you have to understand what the legal landscape is and the procedural posture we're actually in. the appellate court jury had the authority and the jurisdiction to review whether or not the trial court committed any legal error, but they also had the authority and the jurisdiction to re-evaluate the facts and determine what the true facts were, and when they did that, they acted within their authority when they reopened, reinvestigated, re-evaluated and ultimately redetermined what the true facts were, and when they did that, whether it was regard to prosecution witness testimony, physical evidence or prosecution forensic conclusions, they ultimately determined that either it was absent, nonexistent, inaccurate, unreliable or simply wrong. that's w

ben we trust. as the fed begins its two-day meeting, will bernanke and company save the rally? we're trading today's action with steven, simon and josh brown. josh, what do you think? it's all about really the fed over the next couple of days and what they say. >> it's all about the fed, i guess, for a long time. you know, one of the things we've consistently talked about is that right now we're up against the '07 highs. there's no reason why we should be able to cut right through like a hot knife through butter. we should struggle at this level. we should maybe even pull back. so i think this is perfectly natural action. if they want to point to cyprus or point to this or that data point, that's fine. they always need a reason. they always need a narrative. but realistically, i think the market is doing exactly what it should be doing in order to set up the next leg higher if we're fortunate enough to get one. >> weiss, this is in ben we trust, isn't it? >> it is. >> we're looking for bernanke to save the rally, give us a decent read on the economy and keep the market moving higher. >> and despite bitter economic news that'
