police in benicia arrest a man in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl. brandon jacobs met the victim... a 15-year-old girl...as he was serving as a youth volunteer at a local church. police located jacobs while he was trying to meet up with the girl. he was taken into custody and booked into the solano ( darya ) berkeley police have made an arrest for an attack that happened just two blocks from the cal campus. the attack happened early saturday morning. a woman was walking in the area of telegraph avenue and channing way when a man approached her. police say the man then cornered her and groped her. she notified a cal police officer . the man was located nearby. he has been turned over to the berkeley police department, ( mark ) firefighters are making progress battling the whittier fire burning near oroville. that fire is now 87% contained. it has now burned more than 18-thousand acres. more than 45 buildings have been destroyed at least 15 of those were homes. firefighters are still trying to figure out how this fire started.
