i'm near the benicia bridge right now. if you are driving over the benicia bridge, you can certainly see all of the smoke from this fire right now. take a step out of the way. so you get a better look at it. that fire truck you see in the shot right there. that's contra costa fire rescue. they're assisting right now. and you can see all of the smoke just billowing behind that fire truck. and earlier i saw them trying to hit the fire with some water here. but right now they're no longer doing that. i just spoke to the benicia mayor, steve young. he says the assuring part for the people of benicia is the wind conditions are favorable. the wind is blowing from the west and it's going over the strait. >> he says if the wind shifts the prepared to put up shelter in place in place, but he's hopeful that won't need to happen. he says the fire is concentrated in the timbers underneath the road that leads out to where the ships are loaded on the pier. he says those timbers are soaked in chemicals that will result and then burning f
