now fire crews responded from benicia county contra costa county. this was a four-alarm blaze. also fire both from san francisco in oakland. >> we're assisting as well. they were able to protect the silo and that ship. but it did take the better part of a day. crews working overnight saturday into sunday to bring this blaze under control. now the investigation begins into the exact cause. also, they are working on containing any contamination from this blaze. the plan is to put about 3,000 feet, a barrier out in the water buoys to try to contain any debris. also that will hopefully keep any chemicals from getting out into the water as well. now the coast guard is advising the boaters avoid this area because there could still be dangerous debris floating out in the water. solano county health officials have also been monitoring the air, but they say fortunately, the strong winds we've had dissipated any particulate matter from this fire. so they're not worried about any danger to the nearby communities. and fortunately, no one was injured by this fire and exact cause remains und

a huge fire in the weekend at the port of benicia has shut it down. it could have a significant impact on the bay area's economy and it could throw a major ranch in the supply chain. reporter cornell barnard has been following the story since saturday. he joins us live with an update. cornell: firefighters are still searching for a cause to this fire that destroyed part of this dock over the weekend, as you can plainly see. bringing shipping operations to a halt. valero shipping operations are impacted, and experts say that could have impacts at the pump. engineers were still assessing all of the damage at the port of benicia 48 hours after a four alarm blaze store through wooden timbers underneath the dock, stretching 200 yards. the massive fire began saturday afternoon, and was finally contained saturday morning. the biggest concern -- the environment. >> we were advised by fish and wildlife today that they have observed no detrimental effect to fish and habitat, so that is good news. cornell: san francisco bay keeper is doing its own investigation.

a fire at the port of venetia -- benicia is contained. the roof of the home depot that was on fire collapsed. it is just across from the oakland -- oakridge mall. we are from a worker who was on break when the fire started. amy hollyfield joining us with more on this. amy: good morning. fire investigators now are wondering if to fires that were spotted nearby, spotted from up above by a sheriff's department team up in a helicopter, now wondering if they are connected to this one. that is one issue they are looking into. they are still trying to find out what started this huge fire that started saturday at 6:00 at night. it was a home depot that burned in san jose. all of the customers and employees safely escape the flames. one employee who was on break when the fire started described the scene. >> i come back and see smoke and that is when i got worried. i started seeing smoke rolling out. amy: it took about six hours for firefighters to get this huge fire under control. they are focusing on the lumbar section of the store as a possible

there was another massive fire at the port of benicia. it could take days where it's extinguished. it ignited yesterday at noon. the flames were first reported underneath three domes filled with refinery byproduct, which has neighbors on edge about the hazardous materials burning into the air. the fire quickly spread to the timbers under the peer because of a conveyor belt that caught fire. now the only way to reach the fire is with fire boats or through a trench. it could take up to 48 hours to extinguish it. the current wind direction has helped keep the smoke and flames away from the city of benicia. but if that changes, the city s place or an evacuation order. speaking of those winds, let's check in with meteorologist rob mayeda to see how that's all playing out. >> right now we're seeing the same wind direction, a north wind or offshore breeze, and it's making for a mild start to the morning. right now 53 in san jose and actually some 60s around the hills. the wind advisories, which have been up this weekend, those will come down as
