(jrs) tonight -- the san francisco 49ers attended the eighth annual prom at u-c-s-f benioff children'spital san francisco. more than two hundred teen patients and their friends lived it up in mission bay with the players. patients and 49ers players enjoyed a fun-filled "vintage circus" prom with photo booths, music, dancing, dining and more. this special evening allowed patients to participate in a milestone that they may miss as a result of sickness. i've spent a lot of time at that hospital and i can tell you that events like this mean the world to the kids that often have to stay there for long periods of time. ( james ) more than two hundred people came out to san francisco saturday afternoon to help create a giant human banner. this was the view from ocean beach as a helicopter flew over the event. participants were asked to wear blue clothing to help spell out the word -- vote -- in 50-foot letters. the group hopes the giant human banner will remind people to register to vote.
