. >> we will hear from the martin family's attorney benjamin crump coming up. did you reach out to the martin family and let them know of this intention? >> we did not. we have a lot of survivors on staff. we work with survivors every day. i got a lot of support from our survivors around the country but this was a decision we made as our own and we think that it's tastefully done and we think it's an important place to show and, obviously, we believe stand your ground should be repelled in the 26 states and the purpose of the video is show what the real results are of those laws. >> let's talk about the stand your ground laws, the 26 states you mentioned in this national campaign since the zimmerman verdict. there is a number of lawmakers from these states have actually called for a review of the law but this year alone, we have a couple of states, including ohio, they propose bills to strength the state's existing laws when it comes to stand your ground. however, law enforcement officials like chief robert oppenheimer chairman of the ohio association of police

i'm pleased to welcome sybrina fulton, the mother of trayvon martin and her attorney benjamin crump.nice to have you here. >> thank you. >> thank you. >> i have been following the work that you have been doing since you lost your son and at every point have been humbled by that work. tell me at this moment that you feel is the most important thing you can do and those of us who are so in fired by you can do to honor trayvon's memory? >> i think the most important thing i can do is continue to fight and just be realistic and not expect things to happen overnight. it took a long time for everything to occur, so it's going to take just that time to try to get things on the right track. i'm giving my commitment not to give up until i'm resting in my grave. i will fight for my son. i will fight for other people's children, because it's very important that we stick together, we unite and we fight. the other thing -- question you have was what can other people do. i would also tell them not to give up, don't be discouraged, because sometimes how things look in front of you, it's a little gr

also with them the martin family attorney, benjamin crump. thank you for joining us. sybrina i want to start with you. it's a big case, a murder in oklahoma of a white guy from australia who was here. he was out for a run, and he's murdered, and there are a lot of people on the right saying this is reverse trayvon martin. do you see any comparison to these cases? >> i really don't know about the story. i haven't heard about the story. it really doesn't matter to the parents of what color the shooter is, the parents are going to receive a loss, you know, the loss of their child. so it really doesn't matter what color the hand is that shoots the gun. it's the tremendous, you next pain that they are going to suffer from the loss. >> it may be inevitable tracy, but when you hear the news and people try to draw a comparison, does it bother you? >> in a way it does, and in a way it doesn't. with everything going on today, each case is unique in it's own right. i am not going to say our case is different than anyone else's. a crime is a crime, and that's what we're trying to

. >> benjamin crump, one of the attorneys on with her, had an article in the "washington post" yesterdays what they said. they are taking the issue of trayvon martin to the ballot box. your vote will be historic, starts when you sign change.org. it continues when you cast your vote in 2014 in the midterm elections and each election cycle beyond until we make history by passing a trayvon martin amendment to stand your ground laws in every state that has them. these actions will make you part of a new voting bloc, the trayvon martin voter. i spoke to ben and thought this was very interesting. what they are doing is taking a florida case about a florida law and now broadening it out to a midterm election strategy. is this smart on the part of them and it's going to really help democrats. >> i think it's smart. recognizing importance of elections and long-term organizing. both the right has done many years. policies in north carolina. these have been pushed 30 years by conservatives to get them in place. anti-union laws, nra laws, anti-women laws, all this stuff didn't come out of nowhere, r

i'm attorney benjamin crump. we represent trayvon martin's family.morning, so we won't talk long. we just wanted to come and really repeat what sybrina and tracy have already said. and they are certain going to tell you, as only they can say it, with such dignity and grace in the face of this horrible, terrible tragedy. sybrina told me after that devastating verdict, and it was devastating, it broke all our hearts, but she said attorney crump, this verdict will not define trayvon. we will define trayvon's legacy. [applause] >> and so, as we come to join the national urban league who have been so supportive, your president, marc morial, and all their chapters around the country, especially out of brazzaville, central florida, urban league, supported from day one, we asked you all to help us define the legacy of trayvon martin. and we need you to do that not simply by marching, but we have to have you act. we have to have everybody go to that change.org petition to sign in support of the trayvon martin amendment to the stand your ground law's. and when

that full interview plus a response from trayvon martin's mother, sybrina fulton and attorney benjamin crumps" tomorrow. and sunita, you wanted to talk a little bit about that gentleman, ray kelly. he says, hey, you're just giving up your time and all the crime is happening in communities of color. >> that's absolutely ludicrous, and it's important to know that ray kelly is in very bad company. the on other city that's been found guilty of racial profiling after a trial is joe arpaio, the infamous racist from arizona. these two men refused to settle a case when shown mountains of evidence before trial and even after trial, at least sheriff arpaio is willing to move forward with the reforms. instead, here, ray kelly has filed a notice of appeal. >> i want to point out really quick. one thing they use most is the fear factor with the numbers, and it's important that people understand that they're just basically misinforming people. the largest drop in murders happened long before the mayor even came into office. in 1990, it was upwards of 2,100. the year the mayor came into office, it was 649.

charles haight jr., reverend jackson, attorney benjamin crump and ms. sabrina. as we observe the important anniversary of the 1963 march on washington for jobs and freedom, i am reminded of the civil rights leaders and heroes and the sacrifices that were made. let us honor the legacy of those leaders, the remarkable, tireless, articulate, and courageous dr. martin luther king jr. my colleague, congressman john lewis who was beaten and could have lost his life in the struggle for justice. and that talented and committed rev. jesse jackson who will boldly continue the struggle and dared to run for president of the united states. there were armed with the strength character, self-determination, and the power of nonviolence. it's really advance the cause of justice, and we honor the more than 250,000 men, women, and children who came here to our nation's capital to march and to denounce racism, to demand the right to vote, and to take a stand for jobs and justice and an end to discrimination. the year 1963 is noted in american history for non-violent demonstrations
