chief meterologist jacqueline bennet is standing by in the weather center. tracking the heat? hot temperatures and high wildfires in southern county. destructive is this one in ventura county. it's called the springs fire. right near camarillo.about 50 miles north-west of los angeles. this one's more than 10 square miles. it started this morning at 7:00 - and is spreading it went from 10 acres burned to 65-hundred acres have burned in just 5 hours. the wild-fire burned some rv's.like this one. also destroyed some boats. look how close it is to highway 101. 9 miles of the pacific coast highway were shut down. neighborhoods have been evacuated. this thing is burning very close to homes. we have video from a neighborhood where wind is blowing flames closer and watch right here.fire appears.residents here in this upscale newbury park subdivision are long gone as homes are thereatened. you can barely see this house and the flames in the background. winds around 25 miles per hour are making things tough.the terrain is hilly. helicopters are being used for water drops. at this point.
