museum and a wonderful collaboration last year, the concorde museum, trustee reservation and north bennet street pool came together to reproduce the emerson chair that visitors can actually sit in the chair where emerson wrote "nature," the one thing people always notice if they have seen the original and look at this when we have reproduced, this one is green and the original chair at concorde museum is black. in fact the green chair is what it would have been when emerson sat in it and writing desk like this were painted green in the period. later, victorians love to paintings black. the chair has changed a little bit. what people notice when they sit in it is it envelops you and you feel very held when you are writing. the other edition, this wonderful wood piece writing surface is a natural color. this is a furniture piece of adapted use, started as a green chair, possibly as rent ripley's, a tall gentleman when he sat in it, he wanted the writing surface a little higher. they had a homemade markup like we do today, create a higher writing surface. this is an important place for visit
