units at the bennington apartment building were flooded this afternoon. icicles formed on the balconies on one side of the building. that water has now been turned off. >>> we've compiled some information that can help you prevent your pipes from freezing. open cabinet doors to allow warmer air to circulate around the plumbing. allow a faucet to slowly drip cold water. when it's cold, the faucet should be the one farthest amain from your main water shutoff valve. unhook all the garden hoses outside. a frozen hose can burst an interior pipe because of the increasing pressure throughout the whole system. >>> somebody stole a man's entire bies biz on four wheels. we have learned where the missing food truck ended up. but as pat collins explains it's similar to another recent theft in our area. >> reporter: this popcorn food truck stolen in alexandria back in november found a short time later abandoned on penn belt place in forrestville. last week another food truck stole en in alexandria found on penn belt place in forestville. this appears to be a dumping g

this is the bennington apartment building in silver spring. the broken pipe first flooded apartments then created that sheet of ice down the front of the building. you can see it's covering the awning at the bottom as well. the water in the building is now off, but the damage is done. >>> meanwhile, crews are out and about right now treating the roads and preparing for the worst of the snow to come. prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins joins us now live from largo with the scene from there. tracee? >> reporter: the crews started about two hours ago, came on at 3:00 a.m. and are working the roadways. this is 202, what major roads are looking like in the county. not too much coverage on the major roads but in neighborhoods we definitely are. they gave us information on what they think this event is going to do and how they're going the treat it. also we talked with folks about what they're expecting with all of this snow coming our way. more on that coming up in a live report at 5:00. live in largo, tracee wilkins, news4. >>> the m

this is the bennington apartment building.d that the building finally got the water turned off. but you can see all the damage already done and the icicles forming as the water poured off those balconies. our radio partners at hot 99.5 supplied us with this video. and it was another pipe breaking in the district that damaged condos in southeast today. people living at 450 condon terrace in southeast are trying to figure out what they're going to do during another frigid night. news4's zachary kiesch live with a look at some of the damage. >> reporter: wendy, you know, the lights are on here at highland court apartments and the heat's on too. we were just inside. nice and toasty inside. the real issue here no running water. it's been about 24 hours here, a real point of concern as folks from around our area hunker down and get prepared for this snowstorm we're about to deal with. the culprit here a frozen fire sprinkler. we got inside and got an opportunity to take a peek one of the residents took us up here. this is the unit r
