now, officers searching _ for the missing woman bennylyn burke and her two—year—old daughter jellica bennylyn had been stabbed and beaten to death with a hammer. jellica had been strangled. having spoken to the interviewing officers at length, they describe innes as presenting as very cold and callous and not remorseful in any way. he did make one comment and stated that they were both buried in the kitchen, under a large amount of concrete and it would take a significant amount of time for their recovery. we knew that about the 23rd of february, innes started buying gravel, kitchen cabinets and other tools that obviously would be used for diy. and on the 24th, a skip actually arrived at the property. so we now know that innes ripped out his kitchen, ripped up the floor and was in the process of installing a brand—new one. so the challenge for us was we didn't know where bennylyn and jellica were. we didn't know if there were other victims within that property. so in that regard, we enrolled the help of various experts from the uk and further afield, an archaeologist, anthropologist
