peter bergen? >> guest: those are sobering figures. the last time we heard there were 4500 westerns who went to syria for training and now the number is 6900. the last time we had an over all number it was 30,000 now it is close to 40,000 he is saying. so the fact is we are continuing to see significant numbers of people going to syria for training. the good news is very few are americans and the ones going it a one-way ticket with them sometimes getting killed over there. i could only find two examples when researching the book of people who train with a jihadi militant group and come back to the united states. we are talking about a handful. look at paris. everybody involved in the attack trained in syria. there were eight people we know of who were involved in the actuala actual attack. you had 1500 frenchman go to syria to train. several hundred have come back. that is a big problem for france and belgium which has very large numbers relative to its population going. it is a problem for germany

peter bergen? >> guest: the caller makes a good point. there has been all sorts of forms of poall political violence in the united states that is not jihad. the first attack was in new york city on wall street by an anarchist. if you have a grudge or gripe it was easy to act out on it in the united states. extreme right wing militants have killed actually about the same number of jihadi terrorist. for example the church in charleston where dylan roof killed nine african-americans trying to incite a race war. >> host: 330 americans have been charged with terrorism since 9/11 according to your books. 29 years old is the average age. 30% are married and 30% have children. >> guest: my research team and myself created this database to help make underlying claims in the book. if you look at the san bernardino case they actually perfectly match the profile. both college-educated, they were married, they had a child, he was $70,000 a year and a good job with san bernardino county. and in many respects, they accept the fact they adopted this ideo

i think north and west of the city, orange county, northern bergen, rocklin county, points north of that, you have tough problems out there on the to 1:00 p.m., on-again off- again precipitation. then 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., heavy bouts of rain through the area. these temperatures go way up. you see the pink, that's the treacherous stuff where the ice is falling or actually falling on the surface, take a look, we showed you before, bergen county, you get into morris county, sussex county, a good chunk of ice that is falling out there. take a look at the dynamics, there's more moisture to come. it's going to make its way in and i believe that the timeline i gave till 4:00 a.m., you can still be dealing with the wintry mix out there. then into some rain. if you pick up 0.1 inch of ice, it doesn't just go away in a couple hours. even though temperatures are going up, by post commute, you'll be fine out there.
