this has been a troubling few weeks here at berkeley high school. late afternoon a parent spotted what they thought was a young man with a gun in his waistband near campus. beck berkeley police tried to find this person and did not find them, but the school was put on lockdown for 30 minutes. there have been other gun-related incidents in recent weeks. it has become such a hot issue that a special board meeting was held here wednesday night when parents were outspoken and worried about their kids' safety. many want a closed campus here at berkeley high. it is not closed right now. they are also calling for some metal detectors or an id system to keep track of the people here on campus. last week two students were arrested after a gun they brought to school actually went off in a bathroom, a third student was also arrested for having an unloaned gun here as well. we'll keep talking about the ideas here, but we are told there will be more security on campus and also a text tipline for students who want to get information to authorities. reporting live

well, rather, on the streets of berkeley. at one point we understand the woman crashed into this apartment complex behind me. she unfortunately damaged a pretty major support beach. if i step out of the way you can see where some of that damage is out there. crews just got to the scene a couple minutes ago to kind of start the repair work. this was damage to the bushes, side of the building, scattered glass as well out here. berkeley police department not talking much this morning. but the information that we have gathered is mostly from witnesses and some video that was taken out at the scene. we know that before 2:30 this morning, berkeley police department got a call from this location at stewart and sacramento. we still don't know what exactly brought them out here to begin with. but when they got here, a woman in her car rammed into the officers' patrol car. you can see the damage to the front of the car in that video. then she continued, this time plowing in that apartment complex and her ride wasn't over yet. she took
