i sat down to ask why berkeley has been so overlooked. why berkeley, why just berkeley?ed the house fund, the first fund focused exclusively on berkeley startups. i recently graduated from berkeley in december 2014, and i spent the last five years building infrastructure to support entrepreneurs on the berkeley campus. emily: how is the university cooperating with your fund? >> it is set up outside of the university but supports it, and we have had tremendous support. i have worked the last five years with faculty and we have accelerators focused on verticals. we have over half a million alumni and over 35,000 students so you have this vibrant ecosystem. emily: is the university getting equity stakes in these companies? >> not currently, but we are going to give a big portion of the upside to support entrepreneurship on campus. we are already supporting a number of startups today and have made six investments. emily: stanford has been criticized for being too friendly to entrepreneurs, perhaps to the extent that there is a conflict of interest and the university does get

a uc berkeley swim and diving coach todd mulzet. who according to the complaint against him made repeated sexual comments to a co-worker over 18- months in 2014 and 2015. even at one point saying the victim "i'll give you $300" for oral sex. mulzet has his salary docked in lieu of a suspension. there is also an adjunct professor of statistics. the documents show sent a student sexually harassing emails in 2015 even offering a trip to hawaii for a "dirty smoke filled weekend of pleasure and sins." he later resigned. a staff member in the program for disabled students. was investigated for sending text messages and emails laced with sexual innuendo to a student writing "i'll bring the handuffs" and whipped cream to valentines day. there is also a massage therapist who touched the privates of a female student while giving her a massage. one texted sexually explicit pictures of himself to a student intern. in 2012, a painter was fired after two employees walked in on him having sex in an on-campus apartment while another woman watched.
