today was the last day in office for berkeley's youngest councilmember. our grant lotus talked with the mayor about robinson today and he joins us now live from our newsroom with more. yeah, can really a sad state of affairs where public discourse is as we heard at the top there, mayor jesse are again, berkeley's mayor said. >> robinson's resignation really came as a shock. the mayor said he even tried to talk him out of it in 2018 little background here. robinson was elected to the berkeley city council at just 22 years old this year as a 27 year-old now council member robinson became the front runner to become berkeley's youngest mayor, even earning support from state attorney general rob bonta. however, robinson revealed just this week shocking everyone that he's just been in a perpetual state of stress and exhaustion for as long as he can remember, says he's been harassed and threatened that followed home, been told to kill himself. berkeley's mayor called the circumstances that robinson faced an acceptable, especially when he was just trying to do it
