first, bernadette woods? >>> the reason we need to get to it. some of the thunderstorms are moving their way through the state and we don't want to mess with them. southern part of the eastern shore and up into delaware. several counties until 5:15. look at this line of thunderstorms. it's moving so quickly at 40 to 45 miles per hour. the thunderstorms alone have 45 miles per hour winds associated with it. berlin, it's picking up and ocean city, it will be moving in. we'll take this further to the south and show you the same trend here. snow hill, it will be letting up and we're not finished yet. in addition to this. we have thunderstorms hanging behind this and not the weather we're seeing with the winds. in, as far as the watches and warnings. we have the warnings in affect. worcester, somerset until 5:15 and we have a flash flood warning for cecil county until 8:00 and for the rest of us, severe thunderstorm watch until 9:00. that's just part of the story. where they've gone through, we've seen problems. >>> well, you talked about what's hatc

meteorologist bernadette woods with us. just got in from outside about an hour ago. it's refreshing. >> it was 10 degrees below average today as far as temperatures go, and this is july. that's one thing with this weather pattern. we haven't had a whole lot of days with that high humidity and heat. want to show you right now what we've got going on. this is the storm that passed off to our south today, and did it have showers with it. the farther south you were, you had a few showers is and a lot more in the way of clouds. you head over the border in pa, and there's a lot of sunshine. in this city we had a mix of clouds and sunshine with most of the clouds staying off to our south. with that storm moving through the winds turned around to the south but they're starting to day down. we could see some fog form because of that. temperature-wise, we've also been held down. we didn't get up all that much today, and we're not dropping as much tonight. still hanging on to 72 degrees in ocean city. it's 67 right now in baltimore. we only got to 77 for our high. the average h

bernadette woods and bob turk are up dath the temperatures. >> reporter: -- updating the temperatures for us. >> reporter: we got to up around 81 degrees. we got a few showers that popped up. one just to the south of the city. however it's dying. just to the south of the airport, threw see it. it was a little stronger an hour ago but it's beginning to weaken. another very weak little shower, a sprinkle from the city toward the western section of the city but that's about it. we had some stuff earlier across portions of western maryland, one pretty good cell did create small hail. that's moving out of our region into southern pennsylvania so you folks out there, get something pretty good thundershowers. bernadette joins me with a look at why this pattern could produce more showers again tomorrow. >> reporter: we get rid of this storm overnight but there is another one make its way n the winds will turn back around to the south and bring up even more moisture. tomorrow even though the front does not get there there is the isolated chance for a shower or thunderstorm. then the chances in

bernadette woods, bob turk are updating the forecast. >> doesn't look that positive for more rain. by 9:00 last night we saw rain, now 85. activity moved to the north. the only thing around the city bs not much at all, down to the west and southwest, there is rain across southern pennsylvania. southwest pa, one thundershower moved through chester county. few thundershowers. some of these will continue to move to the north, west of us i think we have a better chance in the mountain regions. the city is quiet down to virginia , there is no rain headed in our direction, still the chance because we have the humid air mass around of something popping up. keeping the forecast longer. speaking of rain, bernadette woods joins me with a look at the rainfall numbers. >> reporter: this has been a swinging type of year in the sense that we were so dry and so wet, now we've dried out once again. i want to show you for this month alone we were already over 2 inches below, that's since july. we are above but our surplus dropped to below 2 inches unless we can get rain we will see the numbers drop

let's check in with bernadette woods. still some storms out there? >> there are still some. let's get to first warning doppler radar. we will update you on the situation going on. this is the initial line that brought us the problems, brought some hail as it moved through carol county and making its way over to delaware. on the southern side, still hanging in maryland. we'll be moving toward salisbury in the next hour. we're going show you behind that initial line, there's heavy rains coming through. we are getting the batches of rain. they are moving off to the northeast fairly slowly. not all that quickly. that is the same pattern we are seeing out to the west. all of these storms are moving off to the northeast. that's more where they came from. it the front is still going to last until tomorrow. we'll have the forecast coming up shortly. >>> as the storms have rolled across the state, we have a number of power outages. just under a thousand at this hour in baltimore county. stay with eyewitness news for complete coverage, updated forecast and power outages in your area.
