. >> meteorologist bernadetteed woos has a -- bernadette woods has a look at this. oopt oops. >> you can see -- you can see this has very dry air, contrasting with very warm, moist air. and the thing is, this contrast was so big. and you add a really strong jet stream into it. and it spun up not only tornadoes, but long-lived, major tornadoes. we're talking on the order of ef4 and ef3. high-end tornadoes. as far as numbers go, we're hearing about an outbreak. this is a huge outbreak. alone on that date, on march 2nd, there were 80 sightings of tornadoes. you can see that was during the day. on average for the entire month of march, only 74. we had only a month worth of tornadoes in one day alone. and these were huge ones. as far as our weather goes, fortunately, none of that going on. we have snow showers making its way across the state. light snow, starting to leave us. but behind it, scattered rain and snow showers coming down. gusty northwest winds. and we will have your forecast coming up shortly. >> we're not done talking about the weather. back-to-back earthqu

meteorologist bernadette woods is here with the updated numbers from first warning weather. hi, bern. >> hello there, mary. and that's always a really sketchy one. you always want to make sure. but it has been so warm lately, it's just absolutely incredible. let's take a look at numbers from today. once again, we are way up there. 70 degrees is where we sit now in baltimore. 80 degrees in d.c. it is in the 60s in ocean stabecause of that cooler water. -- because of that cooler water. most of us at least in the 60s, if not 70s away from the water. as we look at the forecast for tomorrow, there is some chillier air out there. it looks like it's going to bypass us with the warm air coming up from the south once again. we'll have that forecast shortly. kai? >> thanks, bernadette. >>> let's check on the roads with kristy breslin at traffic control. hi, kristy. >> hi, kai. hi, everyone. we definitely are seeing some delays already on the inner loop. if you're traveling in that direction, it slows down over to security boulevard. on the north side outer loop, brake lights as well,

boy, with the temperatures warming up, bernadette, those honey-dos are getting longer for everyone. >you see a lot of this forecast. we're not just talking 60s again but 70s. this is just insane. >> it's going to be nice. >> it is. well, okay. one other thing you're going to get to benefit from. starting tonight, at 2:00, it becomes 3:00. we spring forward. so we're going to have that sunlight a little later in the day. and we continue to add about 1 to 3 minutes of sunlight a day. we're going to get that going on for us at least. temperature-wise today, it was just beautiful out there with the sunshine. on the cool side, 47 degrees. we started out in the 30s. look at that average, now up to 52. coming in at 34 right now. a lot of 30s out there. take a look at ocean city. down to 28 degrees already. we'll take you in closer and show you, most of us now are in our 30s. water temps in the 40s right now. so although it didn't warm up as much just along the water, it's not going to cool down as much just along the water either. winds are light out there. that's why it's going to be a

bernadette, is it humid? >> well, humidity is one of those factors that we talk a lot about in the summer. but it is still a factor in the winter. and when you see the dew points rising a bit, they are somewhat in the air. and they are rising today. i want to show you what's going on with doppler radar. you can see, we have a couple of showers and thunderstorms out there right now. yes, a couple of thunderstorms have popped up. and we'll take you in on this, just north of frederick. spin wheeling in to carroll county. and not moving all that fast. you can see, slowly drifting off to the east. this is our big story of the day. look at these temperatures. 72 degrees in baltimore. and that dew point is up to 56. last couple of days, when it's been very warm, that was down in the 30s. that's why it felt so dry outside. and you're noticing the difference today. and we do have warm weather to continue as we officially kick off spring. we'll have that forecast. kai? >> thank you. let's check on the roads with kristy
