thank you president bernal.today you should have received the standard slides in your packet and i will summarize very briefly but i did want to give our director of population health division and health officer dr. susan philip the floor for most of the presentation to provide you with an update on her thinking in relation to some of the questions the commission asked last week but very quickly in terms of our numbers our hospital capacity remains adequate to care for people with covid. our hospital numbers have been ranging between in the high 80's to just about 100 over the last two weeks and our case rate hovers around 55 per 100,000 so we're not anticipating any radical changes. we're obviously watching carefully and dr. philip will go into detail about that and we're cautiously optimistic that young children are eligible for the vaccine soon and the fda gave approval to yet another vaccine so more tools in our tool box to address the ongoing pandemic and i will turn the floor over to dr. philip. thank you.

north bernal heights. at just 35% supporting the recall of the d. a. voters in san francisco had a handful of other measures to vote on yesterday, residents approved proposition a. here's a look now at the results, it would allocate $400 million to money repairs, improvements, infrastructure and equipment. it would also go toward constructing and redesigning streets and sidewalks. san francisco voters rejected a measure to limit the recall process here is looking at the current numbers. proposition c would restrict recalls until after an elected official has been in office for 12 months. it would also, ban recalls within 18 months of an elected official or of an election rather, and if this measure had been in place, the school board recall back in february would not have qualified. it would also ban anyone appointed to a recall seat from running in the next election. voters also approved proposition d. it will establish an office of victim and witness rights, which would provide oversight and coordination

camila bernal has more. >> reporter: not only did pete arredondo say he did not consider himself to be incident commander, but he also said that he assumed someone else had taken that role. in his interview with the texas tribune, he said he believed his role was that of a frontline responder. he also said he did not issue any orders that day. and yet the texas tribune is reporting that he told officers to break windows in order to evacuate some of the teachers and students that were there that day. i want to read a direct quote from that interview where he says not a single responding officer ever hesitated even for a moment to put themselves at risk to save the children. in that interview with the texas treasu tribune, he gave us more details. he said that the gunman's bullets pierced the classroom door, injured officers and hit the adjacent walls. he also said they focused on evacuating other children and teachers, said that they struggled to pinpoint the gunman's location and said safety precautions created challenges, things like the door that was locked or even the lights that we

"the new york times" got a transcript of one of those 911 calls where a girl is saying that she's afraid, that she does not want to die, says, there are bodies, describes her teacher being shot and so, of course, that is the frustrating part we still do not know and there are many gaps in this investigation. we're still asking, but it keeps on changing. officials sending corrections and still a lot of unknowns. that's the problem here in uvalde and, of course, the parents are frustrated. many of them who went to that school board meeting ye
