abc7 news reporter, cornell bernard, joins us. shots were fired?we can say the situation is still unfolding in presidio heights at jackson and spruce, the intersection is closed where a patrol car was rammed by a suspect driving a stolen taxicab police responded after getting reports a man was vandalizing a taxi not far from here standing on the roof of the cab. when the cab driver con con fronted the man the suspect stole the taxi. the cab was located here and the suspect rammed the patrol car. police fired shots at the suspect. we do have some new video in the abc7 news newsroom we want to show you. there was a short chase but police later found the taxi and found the suspect. the suspect was arrested near for the mason at the intersection here at bay streets it appears the suspect was not injureed from the gunfire. as far as a motive, we have no idea. police are still here on the scene and a very large police presence is here at jackson and spruce trying to put together the details of what happened here this morning. we are live in san francisco

abc7 news reporter, cornell bernard, joins us. >> unbelievable story, the preschool teacher is facing child endangerment charges and will be in court later today here in san jose. parents of kids of the preschool are absolutely stunned by the news. police say this woman, 59 -year-old would lives here has worked on-and-off at the academy in morgan for five years but 20 years in child care. authorities believe she spiked a sippy cup of the children that were one and two. she was fired on-the-spot. >> she was preparing water and the co-worker witnessed her putting something in the water, in the sippy cups. >> i was sick to my stomach. i want to throw up. i am...sad. it is disturbing. >> the owner of the academy said in a statement the safety and welfare of children is the a top priority. our staff have chosen early childhood education because of their love of working with children. we do not know how many children may have been given the pills but all are okay. police have no motive for the crime other than wanting to get kids to go to sleep. we are live in san jose this morning for abc7

our storm watch continues with cornell bernard joining us live with a look at how it is going there now. cornell? >> good morning, we have seen serious weather here in the north bay and right now i have to say that wind appears to be the big story. we are live in novato where the power has gone out to some businesses here at hamilton marketplace, namely, two or three restaurants at the very end of the strip mall. the storm has also caused problems in the santa rosa area where crews are dealing with the downed tree. that downed tree blocking california story and gates road, with high winds not only taking down the street but cables phone lines and power lines came down with it, and it happened at at 1:15 this morning. fire crews are on the scene trying to politic it and move the tree out of roadway. it is not known how many could be without power. check this out, the drive across the golden gate bridge was very dicey, and treacherous this morning, this video was shot a short time ago when heavy storm cell was moving across the span with winds gusting over the spokesman, as well, and this

abc7 news reporter, cornell bernard, is there with that story. is it legal to block the path? >> that is the question. the fight is on. surfers on one side, property owners on the other. a lost surfers around here will tell you the waves at martin's beach, not too far from here are a perfect surf spot but it is foggy this morning. accessing the beach has been tough since it was sold to a private owner who does not want surfers around. now a fight is on to re-open access to more tin -- to martin's beep. a lawsuit has been filed against the property owner who put up a gate and hired security guards. scores of surfers and fishermen will bust through the gate and take back their beach access. >> this would be no different than someone buying the houses around golden gate park and putting up a fence. >> the suit says the owners violateed california law by cutting off access to the beach with a gate. owners of the property say the beach road access is private and the protest is scheduleed for 10:00 a.m. today. we are live on monetary beach this morning for abc7 news. >> thank you. t
