the difference biden and bernie are much higher because they're so much better known. but all of the unfavorables are 18, 21, 19, 16, there's not a huge difference in the unfavorables, except for bloomberg, which is a little different but i think one of the things you got to remember is what drives your negatives, what drives down your favorables are negative ads, negative campaigning, and hillary clinton made a conscious decision not to run negative ads on bernie sanders, he has never had a negative ad run against him. no one is attacking bernie sanders, so if he were to emerge as the front runner, what's going to naturally happen in campaign, fair or unfair, all of a sudden the negative would start, and i think that would maybe then begin to reflect more accurately what the electability thing says. i could be wrong but i think there's a reason why both joe and bernie are high in favoritability and about the same in negative and that is we haven't started the negative ads yet. >> that's why we invited a woman who has been in the arena to our family tonight. a break fo

one, the uptick of bernie sanders.ther is amy klobuchar beginning to show a little momentum. >> in iowa. >> that's in iowa. i think any of five candidates could come out. >> it is true, ruth, that iowa seems remarkably unsettled right now. we know that pete buttigieg has served and he has a good organization, and so does elizabeth warren. there seems to be a lot of up and down among the top four candidates, and a little bit of momentum. >> up and down, and iowa's a place where people make up their minds late where the late organization matters a lot where people are going to get to see these candidates and i'm not on the bernie surging, you know, that this is our nominee, the nominee bandwagon. i think that biden's resilience has been remarkable considering some unimpressive debate performances and unimpressive performances on the campaign trail. i would not discount buttigieg the way you are. i think there is a hunger and whether or not it's fair to take a lesson from england, i think that -- that there is an anxiety

and i think what -- what we see with bernie sanders is the visible -- the visible power of bernie sanders on the stage. this is a guy whose face flushes red when he's talking about politics. he looks energetic. he looks vivacious. looks like the same guy that he's been for all along as a public candidate. and i think the doctors' notes are -- you know, they're helpful to him in the same way that anything else might be that supports what you're saying. makes it harder for donald trump, certainly, to attack him because donald trump, you know, went and got a doctor to scribble out some stuff for him. in this case, bernie sanders has three different doctors. presumably, his doctors are not being forced to write that he can run for president. >> yeah. the attending physician of the capitol congress of the united states writing here that his vocal cords, hoarsness. >> for these candidates, it's also important time for fundraising as well. is it not? >> no question about it. tomorrow ends the fundraising period for the fourth quarter, which for a lot of reasons. i mean, this is the last fundrais

as someone who covered bernie sanders in 2016 the people who really liked bernie sanders really likednie sanders and they don't want to change that idea. there's been a lot of the talk of the fact some of his voters might go to elizabeth warren, but might go to liz bekt warren and >> but the people who like joe biden especially those older african-american voters people loyal to the biden base -- it's not just he was barack obama's vice president but he's really a reflection of barack obama's decision making because he stayed for all eight years. so what joe biden has is a loyal group of people continuing to think about barack obama as they pledge their support for joe biden. >> there are a -- joe biden is so far ahead of everybody else in terms of african-american supporters. that's going to play a major role not just in the south carolina primary but in the election as a whole. what do you make of the fact he's that far ahead and others are continuing to struggle despite being ahead in polls in this state or that. bernie sanders, pete buttigieg, elizabeth warren, they continue to st
