especially the 50 votes we have to pull together, we have a leadership team, it has elizabeth warren and bernie sanders and joe manchin and mark warner, because we all have to talk to each other and realize we need each other, that is the secret to the success here. the caucus unifying, every

she tweeted about an awful lot of people including bernie sanders. also, you know, what's ironic to me here is that she is not the most liberal of the biden nominees. she's actually quite center left if you will. she fought with bernie sanders over policy. she was a hillary clinton person. so she had trouble on the left and that's why sanders was, you know, was so unenthusiastic about her. i think honestly a lot of this was about her tweets and of course, there is a crazy double standard here because all of these people ran to the other side of the room when you asked them about donald trump's tweets. >> they ran to the other side of the room. >> they did. >> phil, having to pull a nomination, not just a small matter. it not like pulling a household name or nominating for secretary of defense. how much does this impact president biden's agenda or ability to work with congress? >> it's limited to be honest. administration wanted this fight for a couple reasons. one, the president was supportive of tanden who spear headed this nomination but a feeling

amy klobuchar, more moderate than bernie sanders, she's been more open to it recently.stion is will biden step in and -- and make it clear where he stands on the filibuster. people i'm talking about where he stands compared to where he was in covid relief bill after georgia senate races. didn't want to say screw you to republicans, going to do rec reconciliation. but became clear reconciliation was the only way. that's what people expect him to do here. he's not going to get in front of this issue. he's a creature of the senate and traditionalist. but they think it's going to become clear over a little bit of time this is obvious choice to get anything done. he's wanted to be president his whole life, and when this becomes more mainstream, not just bernie sanders, but more senators on board, will be clear that he will come as last resort to support it too, that's what people are hoping who support it. they'll see from the white house. >> what does the path forward look like? going after some of the rules that govern filibusters? going after the procedure altogether and

so they're trying to tie bernie sanders -- well, of course it is. and the reason it's progressive is because there isn't a dollar in this bill that goes to the itch arest americans. not a dollar. 70% of it goes to low and moderate income americans to help them deal with the economic tragedy of this pandemic. very small amount goes to small businesses, an important amount but a small amount. a very large amount goes to state, city, county and local governments to help them deal with the added costs of covid, with loss revenues and with giving them opportunities to help at their local level in solving some of the local problems that have resulted from the pandemic. so when we pass this bill tomorrow, i said after the affordable care act that i didn't think i'd ever do anything as skeg in congress as i did that day. i'm revising my narrative now. and i think probably all of us who have been around for the last ten years or so had maybe given up hope we could do anything consequential again in congress, well, we proved we can. we're all not just proud o
