bernie sanders: yes. john dickerson: but there's a conservative revolution going on in america right now. as john boehner knows, and as democrats know who have lost in state houses across the country -- bernie sanders: right. john dickerson: those conservatives are watching tonight and probably shaking their heads. so how you deal with that part of the country? the revolution's already happening, but on the other side. bernie sanders: and we are gonna do a political revolution which brings working people, young people, senior citizens, minorities together. because every issue that i am talking about, paid family and medical leave, breaking up the banks on wall street, asking the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes, rebuilding a fumbling infrastructure, raising the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour, every one of those issues is supported by a significant majority of the american people. problem is, that as a result of a corrupt campaign finance system, congress is not listening to the american people.

bernie sanders gets a couple of wins. if you look at the national polls now quinnipiac had -- we'll show you the graphic. clinton versus the top four republicans. she loses to ben carson nationally by ten points. it's early. but look at the numbers. she loses the women's vote to ben carson. she beats donald trump. you see the big gender gap for hillary clinton who would be the first female president there. but look at the marco rubio ted cruz. statistically that's a dead heat. you see women voters there white working class women she has a problem with and independent voters. she hopes to lock it up and address weaknesses. >> yeah. i think that she's got some issues, you know, adds we're seeing for the general election. i'm also interested sort of the next debate with bernie. if you talk to his people, he's nervous, i think, in the first debate. he's never been 0 a stage that big. he had done vermont public access debates for a state of 600,000. >> now it's 15 million people. >> i think for the next debate looking to that

bernie sanders: not good enough. [applause] bernie sanders: i mean, you know, let's not be naive about it. why over her political career has wall street been a major -- the major campaign contributor to hillary clinton? maybe they're dumb and they don't know what they're gonna get. but i don't think so. here is the major issue when we talk about wall street, it ain't complicated. you got six financial institutions today that have assets equivalent to 56% of the gdp in america. they issue two thirds of the credit cards and one third of the mortgages. if teddy roosevelt, the good republican, were alive today you know what he'd say? break them up. [applause] that is the issue. so i am the only candidate up here that doesn't have a super pac. i'm not asking wall street or the billionaires for money. i will break up these banks, support community banks and credit unions. that's the future of banking in america. john dickerson: quick follow-up because you will get a chance to respond. you said they know what they're going

just say bernie sanders is a democrat. >> bernie sanders is a democrat. >> governor dean who knows bernie sanders as member of the independent socialist tradition, can you repeat the phrase bernie sanders is a democrat? >> i don't plan to do that. i think bernie is doing a big favor by running as a democrat. the reason i think he is doing a big favor is because if he were to run as independent he would take votes away from our nominee if it is not him. he has said he does not intend to do anything to help a right wing republican become the next president of the united states. >> why do you differ from saying bernie sanders is a democrat? >> i don't demur from saying that. i didn't come on the show to repeat slogans. bernie sanders -- >> it's not a slogan. it's a statement of fact. to what holds you back, vermonter, from saying your fellow vermonter is a fellow democrat? what is so hard about that? >> i know what the system is here. you identify yourself as a democrat on primary day which is fine with me. there is no party registration in the state of vermont and so if you want to -- if yo

it will be crucial for bernie sanders.ry clinton leads nationally, i had in iowa, new hampshire, and south carolina. is this race over? bernie sanders will have to tell ande watching the debate democratic activist there is a reason to keep their minds open, that they're all to be an alternative to hillary clinton. martin o'malley will make that same case. no one is closer to hillary clinton than bernie sanders. it will be the degree to which martin o'malley and bernie sanders make this case, that she may have moved to the left on some issues, but is that authentic? does she believe the things she is saying? why is that important? because the democrats begin to make the argument against hillary clinton that she would do anything or say anything to win the nomination. they will be playing into the hands of whom? the republicans. that will be one of the central tardis against hillary clinton. that she is inauthentic to her core. i will be interested to see how far down that road bernie sanders and martin o'malley go. charlie:

hillary clinton is popular with bernie sanders supporters. it's not like they hate her and are supporting him. in register polling she is the second choice for the majority of bernie sanders supporters. i think he has to treat her with some respect. dennis: that's the danger when you have a primary with multiple opponents. you can go after your opponents in the primary to go after the nomination but you have to remember that you need these people in november. cynthia: ok, coming up the candidates talk about college affordability and competing plans to raise the minimum wage. senator sanders: over the next few years we have to raise the minimum wage to living wage, $15 per hour. governor o'malley: $10.10 was all we could get the state to do, but two of our counties went to $12.80. secretary clinton: i supported wage, $15, there's no kathie: we haven't learned quite as much about who would pick up the tab. cynthia: from social security to infrastructure and college tuition, there was a lot to talk about spending last night. we are here with the

we see that bernie sanders has thrown something in that. and we have 15 candidates. there has never been a time when i was alive that we had such an exciting primary. we have a battle between the abundance of qualified candidates. you look at the history in new hampshire's primary and all you have to do is go back to john mccain to see that there is always a pass. even for the candidates who are struggling, they can come back. if you look at where we are, we are three months out from the primary. there is plenty of time in politics and especially in new hampshire. things could turn around in 24 hours. so all of these ideas about who should drop out and who will drop out, it is all on the floor area did -- on the floor. i have been to town halls with jeb bush. and people at the town halls. their head and they believe what he says. but i have seen this with dr. carson and carly fiorina. carly fiorina can get a crowd going like nobody else. so it is still anybody's game. i know that you as a media like to look at the polls and see if you can pick a winner three months o

hillary clinton likes to say she's more aggressive on that than bernie sanders, that bernie sanders early in his political career was more captive if not to the national rival association those who sympathize with gun rights in his home state of vermont. the one thing bernie sanders can always fall back on in this campaign is to say to democrats, if you want someone who always will say exactly what he is saying now, look at me, hillary clinton can't do that. she can't claim that kind of consistency and authenticity. bernie sanders, yes, he's saying the same things he's been saying for 20 years, the democratic party is moving in his directions. he spent years and years on the outer hinterland on democratic conversation conversation on these key issues. now he's not. he's center of conversation and when he wants to pitch to democrats, hey, i was right then, tharbled matter, that's a message he'll drive consistently against hillary clinton. >> we saw at the debate the differences emerging or having been there on immigration. where is that republican race now as you see it? >> the republican
