turn to the weather now and question i've got, when do we catch a break from the humidity, howard bernstein? >> i think we caught a break this afternoon. this morning it was really muggy but things have improved. tonight, it's okay, but monday the humidity roars back with the showers and storms. you see the northwestly winds, we had a pretty strong thunderstorm, had a waterspout in the bay earlier today, so that's offshortstop. we're 88. we hit 90 earlier at national airport with 90 now in charlottesville and richmond but only the 70s in pittsburgh and barely 70 up in the high country, garrett valley. looks nice on the weather camera. if you're heading out this evening, 84 at 8, down in the 70s by midnight. probably stay in the low 70s in town tonight with 60s in the suburbs a quiet start sunday morning. low and mid-60s wells of town. we'll be in -- west of town. going through the day on sunday, fairly quiet. upper 80s to around 90 and then sunday night as the moisture returns, you may see a few showers well out to the west and monday, showers and storms are coming back. we'll have more on

i want to bring in jefferey toobin and carl bernstein. is donald trump jr. in trouble?he's going to be under investigation. we alwaysme want to conclude the matters based on one or two pieces of evidence. obviously, all of the trump campaign statements that there were no contacts with the russian government are now false and no longer operative, as they used to say during watergate. but that is not a crime. it's not a crime to lie to the american people, and even collusion is not a crime. certainly the question that's raised by these e-mails in particular is whether there was a campaign finance violation, which is, did the russian government give something of value to the trump campaign, which would be illegal. now, usually, that's the form of money. you know, foreign governments are not allowed to give money to political campaigns. here, it might be information. that is something that director mueller will want to investigate. another issue, a person who may have even a bigger problem than donald jr., is jared kushner who was copied on these e-mails, who attended this

i'm here with howard bernstein in the weather center with the fireworks forecast. >> those showers earlier are gone, but still tracking some things north and west of town that might make a problem later on. i think we're going to have some problems before the fireworks set to go off at 9:09. talking about temps in the low 80s, warm and muggy. but still have to include that chance of a thunderstorm. here's why. on first alert doppler, you see the activity north of us, and east of us. we have the showers earlier. we've got one severe thunderstorm warning that is up in frederick un out there. this is called an outflow boundary. winds pushed out by showers and thunderstorms, they're all over the place today. a lot of times where they end up, that's the focus of new storm development. impossible to predict. this storm could potentially have winds at 60. it looks like i've been tracking it from areas just north and west of frederick. this was the initial cell. you need to see the new development. the back part's 6:21. looks like 6:10 from the new part that's developing. meanwhile, downtown, we'v

we're going to take the radar with meteorologist howard bernstein and slice these storms vertically, and tell us about the storm. >> these storms very fall, normally we get 40,000, maybe 50, some have been pushing 60,000 feet today, just a sign of the intense energy as they are moving from fredericksburg, we will take you down into the fredericksburg area, and look at the cross section, gives you an idea what the storms are looking like. still very tall in a few spots over fredericksburg. over 60,000 feet. we are also looking for hail, one thing we're not seeing at the moment, but certainly torrential rain. i wouldn't be surprised if some of these were in the 2 to 3- inch category with blinding rain. as the storms pulse up and down and move back toward the east, we have the threat that they could produce those winds because they go up, they go down, and when that mass, even the rain just falling, that can push out those winds and we have seen some winds with these storms over 40 miles per hour, but thankfully no warnings around. >>> the watch goes until 9:00 but it's been trimmed bac

first alert meteorologist howard bernstein. >> the storm chances are fairly low the next few days. that's the good thing. we had some tremendous storms today. this time lapse is a shelf cloud ahead of the storm coming across d.c. this afternoon. that blew through. i thought this was aesthetically gorgeous. first you have the clouds and wind and boom, here comes that wall of water with the rain. we picked up two-thirds of an inch fairly quickly. some spots an inch of rain. we are still tracking lightning and thunder across the northern neck and southern maryland, the last of the showers. the way it's going, these have been cooking the last few hours. nothing severe. northeast of leonardtown from solomon now some showers and they are moving east. they will be crossing the bay than should be it. but we have some damage reports. a lot of reports here. these are all either or limbs down. we actually had a tree that fell down on the g.w. parkway during the 3:00 hour this afternoon. down south those storms this evening produced quite a few winds in the 40, 50-mile-per- hour range. we had
