joining me now is washington post political reporter eugene scott and jarod bernstein. eugene, the president believes in what worked for them in 2016. he knows what appeals to his base. he goes there, and he went into last night with a highest approval rating of his presidency. i guess the question now for 2020 is do voters look at the fact checks? do they look at lack of vision? as a kind of campaign kickoff, how would you rate it? >> well, that depends on which voters you're talking about. if you're talking about swing voters, people who don't only listen to fox news and read the federalist and the conservative media outlets to just reaffirm trump, they're going to go and see that. many things that the president said last night were not accurate. and it's going to further concerns about his ability to be truthful and his ability to lead moving forward. i think what's most fascinating about last night's speech which is what would be a trump rally speech if he stuck to a script was that it wasn't an effort to be winsome. usually when a candidate is running for reelectio

adam bernstein is a cardiothoracic radiologist in new york, he's done research that suggests the virusould be spotted with a simple ct scan. dr. byrne heim joins us tonight. thanks so much for coming on. for those of us were not physicians and not fluent in this, explain what it is you think we can do to screen for this disease. >> thank you very much for having me. ct scans image patients all the time for a whole range of diseases but we are finding that patients with the coronavirus are affected most in her lungs. it is a disease that is a pneumonia and so as a thoracic radiologist, which is my focus, we are able to look at these scans and what we found has been really fascinating. my colleagues and myself at the hospital in manhattan have been fortunate enough to look at hundreds of scans in patients from china that are positive for the virus and what's really fascinating for us to see certain pattern develop. in the findings we are seeing in these patients, we noticed there are certain characteristics that were quite typical and quite characteristic of this disease. >> tucker: so w
