stacy rascon, of bernstein, one of the top chip analysts on the street qualcomm, let's start there.action >> i didn't have much of a reaction i don't think it was hugely unexpected i had 80 cents and that was kind of in line with the typical magnitude of the dividend increase that we've seen out of them in prior years. it wasn't unusual. you're probably comparing like intel who obviously just cut the dividend and intel is in a special case all by themselves they don't have any cash flow. they don't have the money to afford to pay it qualcomm clearly does. >> somehow all roads always lead back to intel. i don't know what that says about your view of how dire things may be there, but what about the space in general mike santoli to my left was mentioning the strength in chips. believable, is the worst behind that sector? >> yeah, well, semiconductors tend to like the stocks after the numbers have been cut and it's usually after the numbers come down just before they hit bottom they peaked in june. they've come down 30% and more broadly for the whole sector and it's the largest negative

times, it's been about chatgpt and being behind the eight ball on ai i did notice this morning, bernstein put out some desk research that they didn't lose shares in fact, they gained search share in the month of february do you think that's reflective of what will happen from here? >> well, it's a really short-term data point. and i don't want to get two carried away at extrapolating it, but i think it does show that the fear that the market has had, and we believe has priced into alphabet stock, that there really isn't any evidence yet that there will be share loss and as you mentioned, there was actually a small share gain in the past month i think the other thing we've seen since i was on a month ago that is kind of interesting is a lot of the journalists who have been given early exposure to a chatgpt version of bing have switched back and moved their searches from bing back to alphabet and still can't forget that alphabet is the leader in spending on artificial intelligence they've got a great business that consumers trust, and you know, you see a lot of the silly stuff that chatgpt

our call of the day, bernstein upgrading pepsi saying they are, quote, throwing in the towel on theirnderperform thesis. joe, you own this? >> i think the viewers and investors have to get comfortable with these stocks. these are staples. they focus on selling products which are necessity, which in this environment is warranted. in the case of pepsi itself the company has done a fantastic job not only in the balance sheet management, but also the diversification of its product, not just carbon ated beverages, but the snack business the revenue growth there is. think about this as a consumer staple company, the revenue growth is probably muted, low to mid single digits. this is a company over the last two years is averaging 10% revenue growth that's very strong, very unusual. it's a company i think you want to own. >> also strong pricing power in north america last quarter serat you own pepsi as well. >> oh, it's a beverage company it's snack food company as well and they have things coming in the home and raising prices, looking at costs, rationalizing costs and energy prices are comi
