julia boorstin is here, bertha coombs and the markets are rallying again take a look at the dow, it's74 points right now. we built on these gains throughout the final hour of trade. there's the s&p 500, it's up about three-quarters of 1% the strength today is coming from earnings. consumer discretionary is the best performing sector up 2.1% tesla and las vegas sands are the leaders there. hasbro is up there as well health care is your number two sector the only two sectors lower, communication services and energy the reason communication services is lower, the telecom companies. at&t at the bottom of the list, down 8%. the telecom giant did beat wall street earnings estimates but lord its full year cash flow guidance this morning the ceo discussed some potential weak spots for the consumer listen. >> there's clearly some dynamics going on in the economy where we have customers stretching out their payments a bit we expect that they're going to continue to pay their bills, but they're taking longer to do it. is what the street is worried about here. >> that is exactly what it comes dow

i'm bertha coombs from cnbc. looks like we will have a lower open on wall street this morning after walmart cut its profit forecast for the rest of the year. the retail giant cited the impact of inflation on its shoppers. it was a mixed start to the week for stocks yesterday with the dow rising 90 points before that warning from walmart. the nasdaq was lagging. today we get reports on home prices, new-home sales, and consumer confidence. and the federal reserve kicks off a to date meeting today and are widely expected to announce another rate hike tomorrow. another rate hike of about three quarters of a percent as the fed continues to try to fight inflation. several heavyweights are reporting earnings. 3m, coca-cola, general motors comic mcdonald's, and ups. and this afternoon we we hear from alphabet and microsoft. >>> best buy will open a small format store in north carolina today. the store office only 5000 square feet but it's about 15% of the size of a typical best buy and that has a curated selection of dig

let's get to bertha coombs who has the details. >> bertha, how do they kick this thing off? >> haven't heard just yet, nothing new, overall. this adjusted gross margin, missing estimates with higher cost. but also what we are seeing here is another example of a global company facing strong overhead winds. they actually broke out the hit in the current quarter for each of its divisions from a seven point hit in terms of software to an eight point hit in its consulting services. edited up to an overall impact and top line of $900 million. at the dollar been a little weaker. it's 200 more than what they thought in april. the company now sees a 6% fx revenue hit for the year. from a previous forecast of 3- 4%. were going to be hearing more about this from the school but companies. >> nothing to sneeze at, bertha, thank you. julie, clearly factors here. it doesn't appear that the markets giving them any sort of path. thinking that this impact is one time thing and looks better from here, especially with the weakening, why do you think that is? >> i think there's concerned about i
