she is a junior at bethany university but has no idea where she will go in the fall. thany is closing. >> it was a heart ache the first time i heard it i did cry but i mean i cried a lot. i still cry. >> reporter: the 92-year-old christian school ran into financial problems asen rollment fell from 500 to 400 students. it operated on an $8.5 million budget. tuition costs $26,000 a year. negotiations with a group of private investors fail sod all classes have been canceled. >> many of the faculties are helping us out so it is like they are not leaving us empty handed. >> reporter: there was hope bethany might get rees rescued. the athletic program signed six new volleyball players. we found john showing his daughters and son where he graduated in 1986. he is a pastor at coastlands church in half moon bay. an example of the alumni who devote their lives to the spiritual needs of other. >> there are leaders living in sri lanka and other parts of india and all over the world. people in africae, you know, just out of this little environment here. just a tremendous place. >>
