we want to check back in with news 4's derrick ward who joins us live from bethesda who has been on the roads all morning. hi derrick. >> reporter: good morning. we are sort of off the road now. we can give you a good look at the surfaces you'll encounter. this is springfield road in bethesda -- springfield drive. if you look at it this has been plowed been passed through pretty much. it's passable be stopping can be the issue. slush is the order of the day. look at ag den street here a plow came through here within the last five or ten minutes. it doesn't look the same as springfield, still passable but again, slush is the issue. now, of course on the roads it's a whole different story. take a look. this is the scene earlier this morning. we had a plow going out. then we caught up with someone who left their car overnight. a lot of those cars got stuck on the side of the road and prudently decided to leave them there. now is the time to dig out. we talked to a man who was just getting his car out this morning. >> you're doing a good deechltd i went to work yesterday to take care of my

we're live in bethesda derrick ward, news 4. >>> knew this morning, two people were rushed to the hospital after this crash in montgomery county. take a look at the pictures here. it happened around 7:30 on randolph road and beers mill road in silver spring. two cars collided. one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. >>> also knew this morning, crews are repairing another water main break on bradley boulevard off wisconsin avenue in bethesda. the water should be back on by lunchtime. >>> police in d.c. are working to identify a body found in the stream of the potomac river just before noon yesterday. they say it was pulled out near thomas avenue and four mile run. at this point it's still unknown whether that's the body of a male or female. we are working to get more information on the story right now. >>> tomorrow the navy yard building 197 will reopen following the deadly shooting rampage. a ceremony will be held at 8:00 in the morningmw the reveal the $63 million renovation. it includes a remembrance area to honor the 12 people killed. 400 human resources emp

bethesda. news 4's derrick ward is live with some new information. hi, derrick. >> reporter: good morning.take a look at the scene here of this fire. later we'll show you video. now we want to show you what it looks like from the outside. so many things came together to keep this from being a much worse fire than it actually is. take a look at video from the scene earlier this morning. it was about 3:00 a.m. when this fire actually broke out. the first 11 call came from someone at a nearby marriott hotel. it's one of the taller buildings in the area.gt they're actually able to see the flames. the good thing about that person just being up and having the sense -- the frame of mind to call authorities, not even knowing the address but getting them here. this fire wasn't easily detectable inside when it started as we hear from pete perringer. >> it appears it started in a drier vent into the siding. eventually we lrnd it was in many concealed void spaces. >> reporter: as this fire was burning, people were able to get themselves out. three families have been displaced displaced, but no october
