we are in bethlehem. welcome to bethlehem at christmas. below us is manger square.t is pretty busy. there was thousands of people last night. you can see the tree and on the other side is of course the beautiful, the gorgeous, the holy church of the nativity. really things kicked off yesterday with the annual, the traditional procession led by the latin patriarch of jerusalem. this happens every year. they go through major square and they end up, they go inside the church of the nativity and things really culminate with midnight mass. and that lasted for just about a little over an hour. again it was packed here. thousands of people. they had a big screen outside in the square so folks were able to watch it. so it was a great deal. it was a great atmosphere. great atmosphere. but you can't talk about the celebration here without talking about the politics. i won't get too much into it, but of course the ongoing violence, the political strife that's been going on, violence even yesterday fighting along the israel and gaza border. that said, nonetheless, we met people
