meteorologist mike betes of the weather channel is in hutchinson, kansas for us tonight. mike what's in store. >> reporter: scott, good evening. 21 million americans are under the threat of severe weather including tornadoes and hail the size of tennis balls. and new picture to show thu evening of the ominous skies right here in tornado alley as the threat will resume for the remainder of the evening. so far today a hand full of tornado warnings from louisiana and texas up to where we are here in kansas, and it does look like that threat will continue for some time. numerous tornado watches right now from the central plains all the way down through the gulf coast, and the threat will continue right into the weekend. severe weather on tap now including everyone from the central plains all the way to the atlantic coast. the primary threats with these storms on deck-- mostly hail wind but we cannot rule out tornadoes and maybe targeting some of our southern states known as dixie alley. the threat, scott get this, and hold your breath, probably continues right into sunday, in
