and i was interviewing beto o'rourke the festival and in austin a couple of months ago before the election and i said many are losing. can the democratic party in texas go through before it becomes like republican party in california? and he didn't directly answer that, but he was angry he said the democratic party didn't spend a day or a diamond. so they you know, this it's not healthy for either of our to have an absence of another voice a counterbalance. and i hoped when i wrote the book that we would seeing some of that at least in texas. but i haven't seen yet. i mean, what happened to that texas of molly ivins and ann richards and you know everyone was saying texas is going to turn blue, it's going to turn blue. you look at the demographics, you look at the latino population. why hasn't it become more democratic? i think it will turn blue or at least at some point demographically he is headed that direction and that. and if and when happens, it's going to be very difficult for the republican party to find a path to the white house. but it is why hasn't happened yet. let's start with
