it was born by the principal of betsy core michael. he came to us to let us know that he seen, you know, a consistent -- he's pretty, i believe new to the position and seen a consistent flow of families of students at the school coming to him looking for either direct services or looking for place -- looking for resources and for those folks would are familiar with betsy carmichael, it's a model in being a piller in the part of market community. he came to us with the interest to establishing betsy carmichael as a community city similar to the school where the families of the school and the neighborhood could hopefully at some point access services at the school itself and solidify it as a community asset outside of the school. we took that need and created the rfp for a school site coordinators. that's not intended to provide the direct services but to strike that jiez and to plan out the process for turning betsy carmichael into a full service community school and so this proposal was just intended to find someone to work both again

as betsy randolph said earlier, i-40 is complete chaos and a parking lot at this time. that is hindering the ambulances getting to our facility a little bit faster than we would like them to. but all of our trauma teams are staffed and ready to go waiting for those patients to come in. >> in terms of the number of people who may be injured or possibly even killed by this, the picture that betsy randolph, the state trooper, painted to me was a very, very wide-ranging and serious situation with many, many car crashes. what are you seeing coming in at the moment? >> right now, i don't have information on what we're seeing at the moment. i do know that several field operations have been set up to transport those patients to us, but i don't have any information of actual casualties that have come into the hospital at this time. >> are you anticipating having a lot of people in with a lot of injuries? >> absolutely. we have every single trauma team fully staffed and ready to go for our trauma one unit. >> thank you very much indeed for joining me. obviously you've got a busy

coming from highway patrol officer betsy randolph, our thanks.r reid timmer in el reno, oklahoma, and was swept up amidst the monster storm as it was bearing down earlier this evening. he's still tracking the swirling disaster and paints a vivid picture of the latest in a string of disastrous oklahoma twisters. >> in this you could tell it was going to be a monster supercell. it looked like a pancake, basically, all the ingredients in place for strong tornados. when that happens, the storms are very efficient at producing tornados. it develops a wall cloud, the lowering that hangs down below the base of the storm. started wrapping very rapidly and these suction vortices, miniature tornados that are spinning around like a cell and a multiple vortex tornado started developing very close to the vehicle. violent motion and it turned into a half mile wide tornado. we're driving after it, we have these armored vehicles called the dominators and they dropped to the ground with hydraulics and have spikes that go into the ground. we deployed and had our h

joining us now is betsy rand ravel. it's been a very difficult day and evening for you. want to get back to what we saw earlier, that is the fact that on the highway there were so many cars and the governor said there were enough electric warnings to tell people get off the highway. do not get on the highway in the case of a dangerous storm. were you sur praised to see so many people get to the highway? >> well, i wasn't surprised and here is why. it was rush hour traffic. it's a friday. yes, we had warnings in place but also know that interstate 40 and 45 are kor or dor tluz our state. so people traveling across the country today may not have known and may not have been aware that there were such deadly tornadoes that were coming through. and you know the weird thing about the tornado today is that they were so dramatic and parallelled and traveled on interstate 40 and 35. so some people may have been kaugts unaware. and once traffic started having crashes people were stuck in traffic and had nowhere to go. >> well, yes. so what did you have to do in that situation to g

. >> the state trooper betsy rudolph, oklahoma highway patrol officer betsy riew dosm says some of --ph says they are part of the problem. they go out and then have to be saved themselves. >> i think she has a very good point. initially my thought was until the media decides they don't want to have this coverage then people will continue to do. it then i read a little more about it and the storm chasers in their own words, some of the things they learned were about ground speeds and things that have helped people understand how much time do they have in order to get to the shelter. those things are helpful to saving lives. it is very tough. >> the son died with him too, 24 years old. >> however war correspondents put themselves in dangerous situations, but we see what is happening. >> it is available. it is like big game hunters. humans are no longer on the food chain we don't get eaten. the closest thing to a predator is a tornado. a tornado is like a giant lion on a prairie and if you don't get to safety quick enough, the tornado eats you. in a way tornado chasers are like big game
