here's darren bett. yes, this band of cloud that we have is going to be crucial over the next few days. it is going to bring some rain, but there will be precious little in the south—east, where it is warmer and more humid, mostly rain across the northern half of the uk. at the moment, we are seeing more cloud. it means the best of the sunshine is across the eastern side of england. it is warmer than yesterday. you increasing cloud gci’oss yesterday. you increasing cloud across western wales. still windy in the north—west of scotland. the cloud coming in from the atlantic overnight will buckle and topple down into england and wales. it may be thick enough for a bit of drizzle here and there. we will have clearer skies for northern england and scotland. but here, we have cooler and fresh air. so temperatures are co mforta ble. and fresh air. so temperatures are comfortable. further south under the cloud, it is much more humid. differences in the uk either side of that weather front. and differences in the

here's daren bett.s somewhere in the uk. today the hottest weather was again in gwynedd where the temperature hit 32 celsius. a bit of a different story along eastern coasts as we saw low cloud coming down into cromer. that was earlier on. it has always been hugging those eastern coasts. most places will have a lovely sunny evening, but overnight that cloud will come inland on the breeze, pushing the cloud into scotland and england as far as the midlands. further west this is where it will be warmest overnight. into the weekend and we are taking the heat that we have had over the past few days into the weekend. most places will be dry, very warm or hot and sunny. there could be some downpours in the fire south—west as this area of low pressure gets closer at the weekend goes on, so pressure will be falling eventually. ahead of those storms we are drawing in our area from the near continent by sunday and that will pick up that humility, particularly in the south. saturday isa particularly in the south. s

here's darren bett.could be breaking records today in scotland and northern ireland and here in the north—west of wales, temperatures are already up to 30 degrees once again. beautiful blue skies, strong sunshine for the rest of the day, even further east here in norfolk. the low cloud has burned off here and it is warming up nicely. there is the low cloud that we started with. it got all the way across to the west country and it then burned off. but we've still got that easterly breeze. that's what brought in all the low cloud which is mainly affecting southern parts of england and wales. it means the highest of the temperatures are getting pushed further west and further north. widely those numbers are in the mid— to high 20. but in parts of scotland it could get even higher than 31. a similar story across the western side of northern ireland, 32 possible here. already up ireland, 32 possible here. already up to 30 in porthmadog. lots of sunshine for the rest of the day, feeling hot out there as well.
