right now we turn our attention to the news desk where betty nguyen is filling in for erica hill. good morning. >>> good morning, everybody. well, they are calling it a miracle. in north central china this morning, more than 100 coal miners trapped in the depth of a flooded mine for more than a week have emerged alive. peter sharp of britain sky news has the latest. >> reporter: this high school been something of a miracle. for nearly a week, no sign of life. on friday, they heard faint tappings on a pipe, but nothing since then. it was only this morning that the first of the rescued miners started to be brought to the surface. at the moment now, there are more than 300 rescuers below ground, 600 meeters below ground, trying to find the remaining miners that were entombed when the water broke through, but it is a remarkable bit of good news for the chinese mining industry which is widely regarded as the most dangerous in the world, 2600 miners died only last year, so it's been welcomed by the mining community in china and of course by the men's families. >>> a deadly bombing attac
